The Mary Beth Hotel & Gallery

So much better than sticking three people in a double queen room. This place is a full-on, two story, two bedroom, 2.5 bath apartment that had large rooms, king-size beds, full baths in both bedrooms, a large, combined living room/kitchen with full amenities if you wanted to cook (which we didn't). The location was within walking distance to the party area of the French Quarter while being more than far enough to be away from it. Even being away from Bourbon Street area, there were still plenty of options for food within walking distance. We fully enjoyed the ability for each of us to have a bathroom when we needed it (worst part of staying in a hotel) and for our daughter and us to have our own rooms. The apartment is clean, nicely appointed with art and is tastefully done.

I hate to even point these out since it was such a nice stay, but here you go. The stairway and upper hallway lighting (all on the same switch) flashed on and off like a slow strobe light. I have a feeling that it had something to do with the energy efficient bulbs and can be rectified easily. The second thing, and this is a preference thing, is that I thought the mattresses were a bit on the hard side. However, some people may like this.

The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the whole property was very clean, and the overall accommodation was lovely. Plus, it being about three blocks from the French quarter and canal street made it very peaceful and quiet.

The Mary Beth Hotel was clean and spacious and had a fantastic central location—we were able to walk to almost everything we wanted to see and do in the French Quarter. It was perfect for our group of 7.

There is a bit of noise that filters in from outdoors and possibly other units, and there was too little comfortable seating in the living room. Another comfortable chair or two would have been perfect. This wasn’t a problem for our group, but it would have been nice to know that this unit was split level, so there are stairs involved to get to two of the rooms.
