Amarillo Historico By The Local Way

The location of this apartment is fantastic. It's a great neighborhood for walking, good restaurants nearby, especially the Panaderia Rosetta around the corner! Apartment service is really great, they offered cleaning every other day. There was plenty of room for my family of 4.

There is no soundproofing in the bedrooms. The upstairs neighbor had their window open and were having a really loud conversation past midnight that made it difficult to sleep our first night in the apartment. Also, there are no fans in the bathroom, so we needed to open the window to allow steam out. But halfway through our stay, the window got stuck shut and we were not able to open it again. We asked the property manager for help, but the window was never opened.

Stayed here 3/24-28. Absolutely do not recommend booking w/o confirming improvements have been made. Pros - fantastic location, comfortable beds Cons - it's in very beat up condition & communication with the management company is difficult and customer-driven Details - couch in the living room is stained, filthy, has a hole in the arm; courtyard too filthy to use; bathroom trash bins have feces around the rims; tiny flying bugs all over the apartment, including dead in the freezer; broken tiles on the primary bathroom floor; bathroom vanities are chipped & peeling &  need to be repainted. Also, the pictures show a half bath (though the write up only says two baths). Note that the half bath is locked and used as a storage closet for the cleaners' supplies. The "concierge" is useless. I asked if they could get Folkloric Ballet tickets for me as using Ticketmaster was inconvenient (you can buy online but have to go to another neighborhood to print them). They told me how to get them through Ticketmaster (which I already knew). I wound up buying them at the Palacio de Bellas Artes once I arrived in CDMX, but the selection wasn't as good as if they had been purchased earlier. The information shared at check in was grossly lacking. We were supposed to check in at 5 but the apartment was a mess and two cleaners were still there... there's more but I've run out of characters. Don't rent this place. You're welcome.
