Gama 09 Apartments

The location of the studio was central, near restaurants and the beaches. It was clean, the bed was comfy and the swimming pool on the roof top was perfect to relax after a long day out. Communication with the host was spot on. If you are visiting Tulum Gama Apartment 09 is an excellent stay.

The apartment was a good size. There was a big bed, sofa, and sofa table and balcony for example. Roof top pool was great. Close by is a big supermarket. We did a nice tour trough them.

Unfortunately kitchen smelled moldy otherwise the place was nice. We told about it to the manager and we had opportunity to change the apartment. We did it and it smelled also a little bit, but was better. Location is bit far from the center, not that many places to eat nearby. There is a construction site quite near, so there were some noices.

The good things about the apartment are that it has a full kitchen with smoothie maker and the rooftop pool is nice and warm. Couldn't get the coffee maker to work but I'm sure it does. The hob heats up quickly but could do with a toaster. Fridge freezers nice and big and there's aircon in the bedroom and living room. The roof has an amazing view of the sunset in the evening and it's in a good location for town and the colectivos. Thinnest sheet ever to sleep under - a blanket would be nice. Fans in the room are great for people who don't like air con. 2 supermarkets round the corner.

There's one thing you need to know before thinking of booking this apartment and that is that you will be staying opposite a building site. The balconys all face construction so you won't get any privacy (especially if you're a female). The building work is loud and it goes on from around 7am sometimes until 7pm. You can hear it slightly less from the roof but as there;s only around 12 apartments in the whole block there's no point moving as they all face it. This is something booking.com or the owner have not put on the listing. This will be going on for at least the rest of the year as it's only half way done. Pillows were also massive which some people may like but they gave me a neck ache so some other sizes would be good. The shower overflows on the floor as there's only a tiny little lip to keep the water in so make sure your showers are quick otherwise the bathroom floor will be flooded. There's a mop to wipe it up luckily. The owner is sometimes responsive and is available via text incase of emergencies. Unfortunately it was just too loud from the construction that it ruined the relaxation for us.

Really enjoyed my stay, exactly what I needed after a lot of travel and beach time this place felt a bit like home away from home. Had all the things I needed, possibly the cleanest place I stayed in Mexico and has all the title touches that makes it comfortable as a place. Staff are really lovely and keep you updated on what’s app if you need anything or advice. This place is a hidden gem and great value for money in Tulum.

A bit of noise construction happening nearby but that will soon end.

great spacious apartment, comfortable beds and all the items needed for self catering. the rooftop pool is a great place to catch sunset and just hang out.

We didn’t really have hot water in the showers. it would last for about 2 minutes and then be cold. not completely bad as Tulúm is hot, but still not that pleasant.
