"Wedding location"

10.0

We were there for my son's wedding on November 9. Absolutely stunning location and the staff went above and beyond to make us all comfortable. Rooms were gorgeous and the food amazing. So much room on the grounds to take walks, or just sit and enjoy the scenery. Would highly recommend Casia Lodge and Ranch

"Unfortunately not what we expected or had experienced last year....."

6.0

It's unfortunate that I'm having to write this review as I love the concept of the lodge and really want them to succeed. That said....We stayed there once before and had a delightful time with a delicious meal and terrific breakfast (fall 2023), This time was a different story. On the positive side the staff we encountered. (2) were incredibly helpful and kind. Naomi and --------(the following morning whose name I don't remember) were wonderful! We stayed in the log cabin for a change as we had been in the lodge last year. For the price the cabin was a very very good deal! Charming, authentic log home. They had fireplace wood and starters all set which we thoroughly enjoyed. (More wood next time would be good. ) The cabin is rustic and "well used" which wasn't a problem unless you are expecting a more luxurious 4 star accommodation. The bathroom and shower were the weakest link. While original sinks are charming to an extent there comes a point if you want to be a part of the "small luxury boutique hotels of the world" that they need to be upgraded. In general I would say that the property is in need of some massive outpouring of money to get it up to where it would like to be. Understood: this takes time!. Unfortunately for us the absolute weakest link in our stay was the meals (something we regaled about during our last visit ! ). Starting with dinner when we arrived it was pricey (not surprisingly considering where we were) but mediocre at best. I don't want to be harsh but it truly wasn't up to the standard we had seen and expected. There were 5 of us so we had a variety of small plates and mains. My hope is that it was just an "off" night but unfortunately it was pretty much across most of the board for us. Breakfast the following morning was beautifully presented and had a lovely arrangement of fruit, granola, hard boiled eggs, pastries (very good and fresh!) and egg bites that were positively inedible. I felt guilty leaving them but none of us could get them down. Maybe just plain scrambled eggs next time? Ending on a positive, the setting is gorgeous, the place clean and there is definitely an effort to make it a luxury environment. I truly want Casia Lodge to succeed as we need special places like that. Just hope they are able to put more money into it to get it to where it could be. Would we return? If we do it will be with our eyes wide open and fewer expectations.

"Very good"

8.0

The view from our room and from the common areas was absolutely gorgeous. Dinner was excellent and the highlight of our stay. It's a small but very creative menu, and they have an excellent chef. The server, who was also the bartender, was very knowledgeable. We ate in their charming and cozy pub rather than the restaurant for dinner, but the menu is the same. The continental breakfast the next morning was very good. We didn't use the sauna or the hot tub, but they looked relaxing and well-maintained. (Understandably, the swimming pool was closed for the season.) All in all a very charming place with antiques everywhere but also a comfortable, timeless vibe.

No coffee maker or mini-fridge in the room. Probably not a big deal because there appeared to be good coffee available to guests in the main lobby. In the evening, we noticed an intermittent mechanical noise in our room which impacted our sleep. We learned later that there were earplugs in our room and that the noise was the aging heating system. It may have been more pronounced in our room than in others.

"Superb"

The main room looking out through the huge picture window was mesmerizing. In the morning, a staff member started a fire in the fireplace, which made having my first cup of coffee quite cozy,

I believe our room could have been larger; granted, it was $275--which I am assuming is not the highest-priced room--the bathroom was small with only one shelf; the right handled "cold water" faucet was loose. The chef was absent due to unfortunate circumstances, but it was one of the reasons we were staying there. Management should have put out fruit and cheese and crackers so we could at least have a glass of wine--alcohol needs to be served with food-I believe hors' d oeuvres count. It was quite inconvenient.

This place is amazing and is now our eastern Washington designation of choice. Guests must be 16 so itโ€™s amazingly quiet, the views are incredible, the staff are 1st class, and the dinner menu is spectacular. The parking is fantastic with tons of space and thereโ€™s a paved road all the way from the highway to the hotel so itโ€™s exotic car friendly.
