Frontier Drive Inn

A small downgrade for the fact that a previous guest must have had a dog. My allergies were really reactive. Cleaning after pets could be better. Otherwise everything was perfect. Nice set up.

Special place and very quiet in the off season. My only complaint is the very poor wifi.

Cool place. Nicely decorated. I had been initially worried about cold, but the suite was VERY warm and has radiant heat in the floor. My only suggestion would be to add a mini fridge in the suite.

We have stayed here several times on our trips to the San Luis Valley, but this was the first time we had a chance to come here during the movie season. We absolutely loved being able to enjoy an old school drive-in movie experience from the comfort of our private room. It's a uniquely cool feature of this place. It's very quiet and peaceful here, and feels very private even with others staying nearby. It's about 20-45 minutes from most things in the San Luis Valley, including the Great Sand Dunes, Alamosa, and other towns in the SLV. Everything in this valley is pretty spread apart, so the Frontier Drive Inn has a good central location to get around, and the fact that they offer something fun to do in the evenings is awesome. The staff are helpful and communicative. The radiant floor heat keeps the room and your toes nice and cozy. We were really glad to be able to bring our dog with us too, who also loved the heated floor. They offer a microwave in the room and real cups and glasses, not paper/plastic. The beds are really comfy, and the bathroom is spacious with a luxurious shower and nice organic products. Overall a delightful stay in the San Luis Valley!

The Frontier Drive Inn is overall a wonderful stay; however, there are a few things I'm used to having in hotels that are not available here. 1. A mini-fridge in the room - although there is a fridge in the community space, there is not one in the room, which would be nice to have for keeping leftovers and drinks. 2. King beds - the largest bed you can book is a queen. I am used to having more space, although the beds are the most comfortable queen beds I have slept in. 3. A mirror outside of the bathroom - it would be nice to be able to get ready while my partner is using the shower, and not have to wait for the bathroom mirror to defog. Ultimately there are a lot of unique things you get with this stay that you don't get at other hotels, like the movies, the beautiful landscape, dog-friendly atmosphere, and the privacy and quiet, so these are tradeoffs I'm willing to make. The addition of these things would just tip this place over the edge into being truly perfect.

We stayed in one of the suites. They are very nice. We had an issue with the check in and there is nobody from the hotel on site to resolve issues. Besides very pleasant experience. About an hour by car to great sand dunes national park
