Silver Bay YMCA Inn and Conference Center

A very quiet location. Peaceful. Excellent staff.

Beutiful setting for a hotel / recreation complex. Being a YMCA property this place is friendly and family oriented. We stayed overnight in early spring (solar eclipse) but were so impressed it's at the top of our list for a summer vacation. The dining hall is new and spacious and the food good. Roads leading to Silver Bay are very good.

The property was beautiful. I was so disappointed we did not have more time to explore. I am looking forward to going back.

The spot is supremely lovely and the facility is a bit Spartan but fine. However, if what is really a YMCA Conference Center is going to be advertised on a hotel site, it should indicate clearly the non-conventional attributes - for example that the parking lot is an eight minute walk uphill from the room location. It is not fair for customers to learn this only upon arrival.

Beautiful area and affordable rates

Check in staff was excellent. Honnah was friendly, informative, efficient. Jack was also excellent with answering our questions by phone. Very nice facility. Only room for improvement was food. Very friendly cafeteria staff, would’ve preferred real eggs :)

The accommodation provided good value at an awesome location.

I'm only giving a 3 because I'm conflicted and in the middle of giving this review. This was the only place in the area that accommodated my family of 5, 2 beds & a sofa bed was great for us. I'll start off by saying, it's 2024, I feel like I shouldn't have to see if a tv is included in the amenities or not... I was with my family for 3 days, visiting out of state 5/6 hours away, and there's no tv in the room... I didn't realize while booking because I assumed there was one in this day and age... 2nd issue was that since because we were coming out of state, we had no local cell phone service, and had to rely on wifi... which did not reach the room, we had to go down to the lobby to use it, very inconvenient... also, no phone in the room? Again, since we were from out of state visiting family, we were having a hard time connecting with them. They have a phone in the front lobby you can use, but what if I am having a medical emergency and cannot get down to the front lobby?? And no microwave in the room, and no common area for one... The plus sides was that it had a great lake view, and was a quiet area. The staff was very friendly, the front desk guy, and the cafe workers. Breakfast was great!! Buffet style, new menu everyday. Cereals, juices, toast/bagels, waffle maker, yogurt & fruit etc. The room was big enough for my family, and the bedding was comfortable and modern, not all white like the rest of the hotels. I would love to stay here again if the amenities are updated.
