Marina Bay Cottages

The Marina Beach Cottages are situated on a nice property in a small shore town. The cottages are shades of blue are simply GORGEOUS. Included with each cottage was use of Waterford Beach Park tag, an awesome amenity. Management was helpful and quick to assist.

I normally don't leave reviews but in this instance I almost felt obligated because my experience was so different from all the other positive reviews. To start, the listing for my cabin (cabin 19 - 1 bedroom) was misleading because I assumed it was a detached cabin which was very important for me as I was bringing 2 young children and didn't want to disturb other guests. To my surprise, the cabin was shared with another unit (semi detached). Sure, the listing didn't specify that it was detached but it should have been clearer that the cabin was shared with another unit. Almost all other units on the property were completely detached. Upon entering the cabin, there were dozens of insect carcasses in the unit (in corners, door frames, lights, etc) which gave me the impression that it was not cleaned thoroughly. It also kind of served as a warning because our experience at this cabin was filled with lots of other insects that joined us throughout the stay (centipede, spiders, beetles, ants). It made us feel uncomfortable because I spent a good chunk of my time squashing bugs and gazing around the unit looking for bugs (and finding them constantly). The airflow in this unit was also terrible. We stayed during a few hot days during the summer to be fair, but even so there were big issues. There was one air conditioner in the bedroom. The bedroom was nice and cool but staying anywhere else in the cabin felt extremely hot and stuffy.

Stay was great, area is beautiful would definitely recommend. Only complaint was that our shower was broken and had to be stopped from leaking with a towel. Also had no warm water.

Fat Tuna is right up the road and is a great dinner spot. Over the bridge is Niantic and 15 minutes down the highway is Mystic.Not much storage so we just lived out of our suitcase. Super cute. Cabin 11 has a huge deck with a great view.

Liked the fire pit

We loved our stay. We had a 2 bedroom cottage. It was clean, quiet and very relaxing. Cute decor and a good size for a family of 3. Kitchenette was really useful and parking right out front. We drove to the more popular tourist spots including the beach, aquarium and dinosaur place, but liked coming home to a quiet, relaxing spot to recharge. Highly recommend.
