"Upscale lodge close to town."

Quiet. Safe. Beautiful lawn. Comfortable bed. Quality bedding. Slept well! Robes. It was so nice to have the community fridge. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room instead of going back-and-forth to the community room. I was in a lodge room. I imagine the cottages have their own kitchens. Midweek rate was great!

The gravel drive up needs maintenance. My tires were spinning out in the gravel and deep ruts. I saw another vehicle also having trouble. There were bits of trash and a meat wrapper on the floor by the bed table and headboard. Water takes very long to get warm. I was both frozen out and scalded in the shower.

"Exceptional"

The Orchard Hill hotel is a wonderful property to stay. The location in Julian, California is perfect at the end of town and in walking distance to all. It’s quiet, woodsy cozy, elegant country interiors and beautiful outdoor spaces. Marta was our first hostess and extremely charismatic and knowledgeable giving us tons of information about the hotel and the town. The jewel of Julian and we are coming back.

"Best place to stay in Julian"

Fantastic location in Julian easily walkable to main street, but still remote up on the hill. The staff is amazing, very friendly and willing to help with just about anything. The grounds are nice with a running creek in the front of the lodge, BBQ pits, benches in a grassy area and corn hole games all around. Room are nice, but a little dark (needs some updated lighting). Breakfest is amazing! Highly recommended....

This place is a bit of a mess. We came here because they used to have a happy hour with a "charcuterie board." You had to pay for your drinks and there was no meat (look up the definition). They give you credit towards breakfast but there was no breakfast because the chef did not show up! The toilet in our friends' room was broken and it took a while for a manager to show up. This place is expensive and you DO NOT get what you hoped you paid for. I assume this is a sign of poor absentee ownership.
