I stayed in a double bed with shared bathroom--when looking at the pictures, those will be the smaller, most basic rooms. Location is great. On a main road but not too loud/busy. Bus stop right across the street and Blue Line station just a four minute walk away. Shower was new and mostly clean. Flooring was new. Most everything else was older, but clean. Bed was comfy (headboard was not well attached and was noisy but once I settled not too much of an issue (I hope) for room neighbors as I had an exterior wall) and linens were clean with no stains. There was only one other guest, which was good as all of the doors are VERY THIN, and I would be concerned about noise level if they were full.

I was locked out of my room (my code did not work) and luckily I had taken my phone into the shower room with me. As there is no staff on site and no phone on site, I would have been in a pinch otherwise! They were quick to fix it, but should not have been an issue to begin with. The shower head did not work--only the hand held section functioned. I did not like that I could not close the blinds behind the headboard. Being backlit and visible to the outside at night is not ideal. Door to stay area was not locked. The parking is not as advertised by the management. It is free street parking yes--IF you make sure to park in the correct spots, but it is in NO WAY guaranteed. They state in several responses that it is guaranteed--you "just have to look for it." This means you might be parking over half a mile away in a neighborhood and is very misleading. They have no control over the parking situation and the parking close to the hotel (that is free) is VERY limited. Just be honest about the parking situation--people coming to a big city will understand.

It was a very good experience staying at Stay 424 Hostel. The place is clean, quiet, and close to the Blue Line. We would definitely stay here again.
