TownePlace Suites by Marriott Tempe

We were excited to check out this new property in Tempe for a couples winter getaway in town. Unfortunately the stay wasn’t very relaxing. After the first night we had to move from the second to the top floor because every step above us sounded like a herd of elephants. On the top floor there were multiple guests pumping loud music and several families that allowed their unattended children (ages 10 and under) to roam free and scream in the hallways, even late at night. Just when we thought we found some peace and quiet in the sun by the pool- those large groups of children, with their parents present were absolutely out of control in the pool, screaming and splashing in the pool and hot tub. Additionally the included breakfast is essentially a low end motel breakfast with very minor changes daily- hard boiled egg, some sort of wet quiche and cereal. If you’re trying to diet this might be a good thing because you’ll definitely be hungry. The mobile key doesn’t work at many doors in the hotel including and most annoyingly the elevator. The gym is excellent for a hotel gym but every time we were there it smelled like grease and food. All of this is very unfortunate because the facility is overall nice with clean rooms and a big pet area. Our favourite thing about this hotel was that they were understanding about us needing to leave early and find somewhere else to end our vacation on a positive note. I think the front desk is aware of all these issues but is not equipped or allowed to do anything about them. Bottom line: this is as far off as you can get from a Marriott property for titanium guests. More like a well dressed motel with typical motel guests.

The shower is not as strong as I want it to be, some mold on the sides of the shower caulking, also need to clean the water drain in shower as water was accumulating too much while taking a shower which is unhygienic ( was a bit clogged up ) The restaurant could use stronger coffee. The one we had was too watered down it lacks flavor.

Great new and clean hotel, spacious rooms, staff very friendly and accommodating. Close to Tempe downtown and across the street from a big shopping center with restaurants. Very nice poolside with fireplaces

We booked a room with a king bed and an open up sofa bed. The AC unit in the room is designed in a way that it is impossible to open up the sofa bed. Staff was very helpful and we were able to change the rooms

The pool and hot tub are very nice!

Rooms are small for suite.

Good condition and friendly staff. Our dinner in the bar/restaurant was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

My stay here is wonderful, with all the upgraded facilities and furnitures inside.

Everyone was so nice at this location. We were always met with a smile and a "How are you doing"? Everything was clean as expected. If we have a need to be there again, we will absolutely stay there again!
