It was perfect for our needs. Price was super reasonable and we didn't need all the extras like a pool and exercise room. Just a decent bed, clean and neat. There was a USB plug on the lamp, brand new larger than normal Fridge and separate freezer. Microwave, coffee machine and a toaster oven. Shower was easy to use and had a water saver shower head. No complimentary breakfast but plenty of nearby places to eat. Newer owner and renovation.
Adequate, but not exceptional.
You know what they say about "You get what you pay for." I don't need fancy, but I do need clean. The floors needed a good sweeping. There was no hot water! Ergo, no shower that night. The sheets looked like they might have been slept on, but they smelled fresh, so I chanced it. In the morning I stripped the bed to make sure the sheets got changed, and I found a bedbug. The manager tried her best, was apologetic, and refunded my money. She has her hands full trying to run that place. But I won't be coming back to the Castle Inn again.
Typical roadside motel. Rooms say "non-smoking" and mine didn't smell but lobby and corridors have strong smoke smell. New floor in main part of room. Smoke detector was missing. Good water pressure in shower. Comfortable bed. Good for a sleep-is-all-I-need stopover.
