Western 1924 Luxury Lofts

Lovely character, clean and spacious. Very comfy!

Martindale is very quiet but it suited our needs.

The Loft we stayed in, Skylark was outstanding. Everything was very clean and fashionable design. The loft was well-appointed and had everything you would need for a night, a week, or a month. One good bar/restaurant is very close by and another one is being remodeled. But you are only 6/7 miles from San Marcos and 10/11 miles from Lockhart with lots of great restaurants. These are wonderful luxury lofts in a restful quiet town.

Location is perfect for floating the river or going to the Texas State Campus. It's easy to park and we felt safe at night. The restaurant/bar and shops all close early on Sundays and were closed all the days we were there so it was extremely quiet. The decor, bed and linen quality and cleanliness are excellent. We've stayed here several times and would stay again.

Whatever they've done with the AC - it was 80 degrees when we arrived and took a good 2 hours to become comfortable, everything nearby was closed so nowhere to go. Not ideal after a 4 hour drive in the heat. The host can control it with their phone and should ask when you're coming and cool it down.

The decor and staging of the ‘Skylark’ property was modern, warm and inviting! I loved the fact that there was a place downstairs that had a bar, pool table & even a Photo Booth! There’s a playground outback for the littles and drinks inside for the grownups! The food offered there was not costly but definitely yummy!

I would like to say the cost was too high, but I could imagine that a beautiful home away from home place like this would be on one hell of a waitlist and barely accessible…
