Croparadise Hostel

Location is ideal, 5 min walk from the old town. However, that is the only benefit to staying here. The staff are unhelpful. For example they said they would fix the broken lights in our room when we arrived and this was never done. We booked the private ensuite room which ended up being located directly beside the kitchen so it was very loud at night time and morning time when people were cooking and talking, earplugs would be advised. There was also a lack of privacy with this room as there was a small gap in the wall connecting the ensuite to the main bathroom so you could hear everything. The bed was also incredibly uncomfortable resulting in sore necks and backs after a couple of nights. The entire property was quite grubby. There was a leak from the kitchen sink and it appeared the main toilet was leaking. Our shower was also unclean.

We stayed in a private room, booked for 2 but that had 3 beds. The beds were comfortable and clean, the bathroom a little less, the room in general was just a little old and lousy. The room was a couple-minute walk from the hostel itself, which was suprirsing, but why not, it was still well-located in Split. The staff was not very welcoming nor helpful. Overall, the place is well priced and well located - I would stay again if I couldn't find availability elsewhere...

The location was great, the facilities were great and the staff were very apologetic for the state of things, but this didn’t quite make up for a grubby room and very noisy neighbours who watched football in the communal area late at night (with just a thin door between this area and our room)

staff were unfriendly and so unhelpful, when I asked questions regarding the hostel as it was not satisfactory they made me feel stupid and if I were to blame- would not recommend to anyone, best go somewhere else

The Green Hostel is right next to the Castle Grounds, so you can't get much better! We had an apartment - which was fairly spacious and with a fully equipped kitchen. It was quite noisy at night, so make sure you bring earplugs.The only other downside was the floor in the apartment was quite grimy. Otherwise, the rest of the apartment was quite clean.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM IN THIS HOSTEL. An absolutely disastrous experience! The price might be accessible, but cheap price does not have to mean cheap treatment. I first arrived before I could go to my room (before the check-in time) and went to confirm my booking and pay everything I had to pay in advance. I had specifically asked for a private en-suite room, which had been confirmed when I went there. Later, when I arrived tired and prepared to go and rest to my room, I was told that my room was given to other people that arrived afterwards. There was clearly an organisational problem there, but what shocked me the most was that the lady that was trying to kindly solve that unsolvable situation called the hostel manager who had a horrible attitude. The manager asked to talk to me on the phone and SHOUTED at me, saying that it was not their fault. When I tried to explain him my discontentment he told me to SHUT UP AND WAIT, as he was to finish talking first and then I could talk. It was absolutely shocking and appalling the fact that the person that should be granting the well-being of every guest was driven by rudeness and an enormous yet fragile ego. Needless to say, but the situation could not be fixed and I had to go, on that evening, to another room which wasn't a private en-suite room as I had asked and payed for. I am disgusted by such treatment and I suggest to anyone that values his/her personal dignity not to go there nor to finance such an ill-prepared accommodation.

This place had a good location and it was clean. However the staff weren’t very helpful and welcoming. Our actual room was a bit of a walk away from the reception and through a back street. We weren’t told how to get into our rooms and everyone struggled with the door. Also there was only one bathroom that had a shower and toilet together, so it was a bit annoying having to wait when everyone wanted to use it in the morning. Not a social place but had a little kitchen, TVs and computers so that was a bonus!

We paid only 200 Kunas for a private room with kitchen, bathroom, television, computer mac and 5 minutes walk from the center. Never saw a room that good and that cheap. Really glad from this stay here.

Consider the high prices of hotels and hostels this time of the year, I was glad to found this hostel in a relatively good price. We had a private room, which is more like an apartment. It was clean but the bed was extremely uncomfortable because the mattress was sliding down. Gladly the staff were accommodate and changed the room for us. The second apt was great and the best part is the location! Close to the main sites, the bars, shopping area and the historic palace. The only cons- we didn’t realize that we need to wait until the water for the shower become hot, and also that there was a smoking smell at the apt (maybe from the neighbors). Wasn’t a big deal.

Just wanted to leave an update on late arrival, our flight was delayed 2 hours so we arrived at the airport after 11. Emailed and phoned the hostel who gave us the night porters number, updated our taxi transfer time and we had no problem. Thanks for excellent service!
