Beautiful hotel close to the main area. The star to this property is the hotel staff from the concierge, to front desk and to the fabulous breakfast staff in the am. We had arrived late and the dining options were closing and kept the restaurant open for us and offered us a traditional Sicilian meal! First of many fabulous meals here. The roof top was great - we enjoyed a drink every night before dinner. A perfect stay for our week in Sicily!

We enjoyed a number of elements here: 1) the staff was always pleasant and trying to please, and made restaurant and tour arrangements for us whenever requested; 2) the breakfast options were plentiful and excellent; 3) the location just above the Curso Umberto is great.

We fail to understand the rating or the cost of Palazzo Vecchio. While there are positives (see prior question), this venue falls short in several ways: 1) they have a wonderful rooftop, but will not allow anyone to use it until 5 pm (very underutilized). They should put up a few umbrellas and have a breakfast buffet and afternoon tea there; 2) they advertised that our room had a sea view, which led us to expect a GOOD view, yet there was barely site of the sea through the window, between other buildings/trees; 3) the spa is dark and dank, and there is no pool; and 4) the room itself needed a facelift (only the bathroom was updated). Other hotels such as the RH Collection and the Ashbee Hotel offer more comfort, better rooms, a pool, and real views for the same price or less (we checked after arriving in Taormina). If you do not need to be right on the Curso Umberto, it seemed to us that other options are better.
