Everything! It lived up to its name — so charming, light and airy, comfortable, lovely pool and a terrific location. Everything we wanted to see in Ponta Delgada was a fairly easy walk. We all enjoyed the breakfast — eggs, sautéed vegetables, pancakes, rolls and jam, fresh cake, cereals, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses daily. Very comfortable beds. We had the suite that fit our family of 5 comfortably. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We stayed for two nights and had a car and found parking manageable once we figured out where lots and free parking zones were. Close to everything but also quiet location. Friendly staff.

Lovely hotel in a good location with excellent staff. Clean room, great aircon, comfortable bed and decent shower. Never a problem getting a sun lounger which is always nice!

"A fabulous place to stay"

Casa Portuguesa is beautiful. Well placed in Ponta Delgada but with a feeling of space. The house has been beautifully renovated and the room was very comfortable. The pool looked lovely and the gardens are extremely well maintained. The hotel was incredibly accommodating as we had a severe flight delay and missed our original dates. They also found us a room in a partner hotel for the following day if we needed it. They couldn’t have been more helpful and we really appreciated it. We would love to come back and stay to make the most of the indoor and outdoor space.

"So glad for an encore weekend at this lovely property."

We were stranded on Sao Miguel for an extra weekend due to inclement weather and are so grateful to this property for having a safe and comfortable room for us to return to until we could leave. Ligia, Daniel and Sandro were so kind and helpful, they turned a bad situation with the airport shutdown into a stress free place to wait out the fog.

This property was fantastic.
