Casa Portuguesa - Charming House

The house is very pretty and the grounds are beautiful. It was remodeled 4 y ago. It is centrally located and the rooms are spacious. The public rooms feature some interesting artifacts and decorations.

In comparison with other hotels in close proximity, the rooms were a little less luxurious, such as quality Of beds and towels. When we arrived a staff member reluctantly opened the door (have to ring bell - no sign indicating where the entrance is). He seemed unfriendly and brief. We dragged our luggage up the steep front stairs and down to the lower level where our room was and had no offer to help. We left before breakfast opened and were offered a to-go that consisted of dry buns, a slice of cheese, a piece of cake, and a juice box. Another staff member who worked the later shift was very friendly. We had stayed close by a day before and were offered a to-go that was so much nicer. The hot tub is in a green house - fun idea - but feels a bit in need of love. Only street parking available.

Breakfast was great. I would have enjoyed oatmeal. The small container out out every day was always empty.

The neighbors on the patio next to us smoking. I’m not dure you can do much about that.

Beautiful property with wonderful pool and jacuzzi and fantastic staff. The location is walking distance to all the center restaurants and sites.

The breakfast was amazing! Location was close to everything.

Parking can be difficult. Best to find parking after 6:00 p.m.
