A localização é excelente, mas são as pessoas que fazem também a excelência de uma casa, a simpatia, o profissionalismo e a disponibilidade da Marta, do João e da filha Mariana, fizeram-nos sentir em família. Recomendo vivamente!

Glorious! We arrived fairly late and João and Marta were so very welcoming. They showed us the property which is spectacular. They surely have put their heart and soul into the property to make it what it is. And it is super! Not only did we have the best room (in my opinion) I felt we were welcomed as new friends rather than guests. Marta offered to make us supper and if offered the same, you should grasp the opportunity immediately as she is a fantastic cook. We spent a pleasant evening with our hosts chatting about all and sundry followed by a superb night's sleep. The property itself is tranquil and full of history. Waking up in the morning we felt more than refreshed but more like recharged! The story of how it came to be and João and Marta's vision is interesting in its own right. If you have found yourselves in the area, do yourself a favour and make a plan to stay at Reinado de Dom Dinis.

A comida, a recepção pelos proprietários, os detalhes no quarto. Desde a roupa de cama até a os livros no quarto. A decoração é impressionante e sentimo-nos como uma verdadeira família real. O jantar foi espetacular. Sem palavras. Experiência única.

Our visit turned out to be more than just an overnight stay as we visited several Templar castles and towers. It was a wonderful experience that complemented and enhanced our trip. The property is perfectly situated next to the Zêzere River, providing gorgeous views from our room, and even from the bathroom. From the balcony, we could also see the Dornes peninsula, including the Templar Tower. Such a serene location. Each room is different, both in layout and decor. They all have a theme related to key historical figures, including the Templars. Our room was themed on Jacques de Molay, the last Templar Grand Master in France who was burned at the stake. The living and dining area is also richly decorated, including portraits of all of the Portuguese monarchs. As lovely as the property undoubtedly is, it is the amazing hospitality of the hosts, João and Marta, that made the visit so special and memorable. João gave us a tour of the property, freely shared information on the area and on the Templars, and explained how they are pretty much self sufficient when it comes to food. Marta is a wizard in the kitchen, as well as being an equal partner when it comes to managing the property and the small farm. The optional traditional dinner with the hosts is not to be missed. It was delicious and included fish caught from the river that day - and home-made wine. The property offers a range of activities, both on land and on the water. We didn't have time to consider any of them, as we were only there for one night. Private parking was available for our car. The village centre is only a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
