Casa da Horta by Atlantic Holiday

An idyllic house, built in 1896 and recently completely refurbished. The ocean view is spectacular. The garden is beautiful. The outdoor bbq was used a lot. Situated in a neighborhood where the locals live. Very nice!

The beds were a bit hard for us. Outside we missed some comfortable chairs. The lights downstairs were not so cosy.

A very comfortable house, undoubtedly a great place to stay in Madeira. Located away from tourist centers, yet only 5-10 minutes by car to the VR1 highway. We can choose either a very steep route with a slope of 30-40% in places, or a slightly longer, more comfortable route, although also steep in places. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The house is located in the rural area of Santa Cruz. In the morning we were woken up by the crowing of roosters and the singing of canaries :) There we could experience how the local inhabitants live. The house is surrounded by cultivated terraces, there are narrow walkways between the houses and the crops, along which irrigation channels have been improved. On the other side of the road, slightly below, there is a levada, different from all levadas visited by tourists - here you can see how lavadas are used in practice to irrigate crops. The house itself is very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, living room and two bedrooms in the attic. There is a small garden and a barbecue area. Sea View. Beautiful sunrises. There are planes landing and taking off below, but their noise is barely audible. Hosts from Atlantic Holiday were very helpful and we were able to get all necessary information via WhatsApp. We strongly recommend Casa da Horta! (or no... don't go there and leave a slot for us to book again ;) ) We want to come back here again!

A whole new house with barbecue place. We had a great stay there. Great service from managing company and the owner. Everything is new. Fire place in the house. Parking in front of the house along the street. 10 min from airport. It’s on the hill, driving up with a stick could be a challenge. Recommend renting a stronger automatic, would be useful for the whole island.
