Host Stay Apartment 2 Loftus

It was comfy clean and cosy

I travelled all the way from Manchester, I was expecting some cookware to be able to cook for a family, there were only 2 little pots in the cabinet, in the bathroom i also had to buy my own hand-wash, going back to the kitchen there was no dish soap left neither any sponges, once we checked in we found bedding inside the washing machine. We were told to keep the apartment clean but there was no hoover in the property or any dustpan and brush to clean around, we asked in advance if the kitchen had the right equipment and we was told that yes. Small things make a big difference .

Nice setting and a ideal base to explore

We were a family of 4 and only two bowl in property for morning breakfast and two towel to have a shower with. Pillow also to soft for our liking.

Very warm even with the heating off but nothing a open window can’t solve

Comfortable, clean, barring awful stains on settee which had been missed which was a shame because obviously newly furnished. Ideal location for Saltburn and Whitby and surrounding lovely villages. Loftus is a lovely up and coming historic village with lots of amenities.

WiFi intermittent, so TV not always available, no light in stairway, outdoor bin we cldnt find and not all bins numbered the each apartment. Door safe not next to apartment door and in dark impossible to see labels, trial and error to access, stained settee.

After staying in the Zetland Apartment for 3 nights it’s fair to say I was a bit disappointed. Firstly when walking up the stairs upon arrival we noticed the carpet at the top of the stairs slipping off, which it’s definitely a trip hazard. We also noticed some odd stains on the sofa which was very off putting. Throughout the next couple days we noticed a few basic essentials which seemed to be missing such as bin bags and surface cleaner. The shower also appeared to be damaged and hanging off the wall a little. There was also a plastic bag over the fire alarm and when entering the property for the first time the automatic lights were off, so we had to enter the circuit breaker and manually turn them on. Overall not a pleasant experience and would not rebook when we next visit family.

No contact with property despite calling repeatedly. They double booked us and we were not told until we were on the doorstep (via text because no one answers the number provided) that the proper wasn’t available and to make other arrangements!
