Host & Stay - Retreat By The Sea

Location, bright, airy comfortable, well equipped, good for our dog. Parking easy right outside.

Needed oven gloves…hot water too hot and couldn’t mix to acceptable temperature for a shower.

Location is excellent- a stones throw from the beach. Well equipped Decorated well - felt like a home from home Clean Secure Great communications on the run up the visit

Second bedroom is a bit smaller than the main one - but still workable. Parking close to the property was good for us but could be more challenging in busier times.

The location was perfect, on a quiet road, 2 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the centre of the village. We had been worried that we may struggle to find a parking place but there was always lots of room. The place was spotless and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and we slept well whilst we were there. If we’re back in Marske we will certainly use this property again.

We would have liked some coat hooks.

This was the most amazing accommodation. We just didn't want to leave. It is set in the best ever location, with a very short stroll down to the sandy beach, and whether you want to go to Redcar or Saltburn, it is such a fabulous walk along the beach, given that it is central to both. The place was so cosy with everything you needed, and the little garden at the back was so pretty. The beds were comfortable, and the place was lovely and clean. The local shops were lovely to look around, and the train station was a short stroll up the high street. One to book again in the future.

The Flat was nice on arrival, the lounge lovely, and the location great for a beach walk to lovely Saltburn

A £25 none refundable damage payment. The kitchen already had a broken cupboard. There were only 3 wine glasses and broken prosecco glass pushed to the back of the cupboard.The rest of the glasses were dirty There were very limited utensils in the kitchen and no oven gloves.there was nothing there to be able to wipe down surfaces no hand wash in the bathroom, and the bath had a hole in it not even a bin bag in the kitchen bin. The pots and pans were not the cleanest, and the under sink cupboard was also lacking a good clean. Lots of cobwebs and dust and the plastic plant near the rear bedroom had not seen a duster in .months. The rear bedroom was also very very small and the bed was very uncomfortable and didn't feel of good quality Overall disappointed with the lack of care and cleanliness and attention could have been so much better with a few more welcoming touches like a dishwasher tablet to start you off a dish cloth and some surface spray some hand-wash in the bathroom more than 1 toilet roll between 4 people. We have emailed the property but we have had no reply.
