The property was great for us. The hotel is well looked after. Our room was a good size and very nice. The lobby/reception area was very nice. We sat there a couple nights after dinner and enjoyed a nice glass of wine with a few other guests. Also a very nice pool area if you’re there in the warmer weather. Maria was very helpful and booked us a wine tasting and a river cruise. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

The owners make you feel special an authentic run family hotel. The hotel had been recently refurbished and looked beautiful. The view was breathtaking. Nothing was any trouble. Would go back

If you are looking for a vacation location that will refresh your soul, this beautiful vineyard getaway is the place for you! Set in the tiny Village of Provesende, this gorgeously renovated stone hotel overlooks the gentle rolling hills of the Douro Valley. The hotel and working vineyard have long been in the family of the charming Manager, Maria Pinheiro da Veiga. She was an absolute delight to talk with and gave generously of her time and knowledge of the surrounding tight-knit community. We were particularly interested in some peace and quiet after almost 3 weeks touring Italy and Portugal and we found this location a balm for our travel-weary souls. Avid bird watchers, we were entranced by the beauty and impressive variety of birds we could see and hear clearly as there was virtually no traffic sound at all. After we arrived, we sat and enjoyed the beautiful birds for 3 hours before we heard one motorbike drive by. It was sheer bliss! And so was the food! We had the best traditional Portuguese meal prepared on site by their wonderful chef and served to the melodious tunes of Fado over the sound system. They have a beautiful swimming pool, but it was still too chilly to do more than sit by the water and enjoy the fresh air and simple beauty of a place almost untouched by time. Five Stars aren’t enough!

We had a wonderful stay at Caso do Santo. Maria and her staff we wonderful. It was very tranquil and felt like paradise. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was great. Highly recommend.

We had an incredible stay here. The property is absolutely beautiful and perfectly appointed, amazing views, great location. Maria was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a lot of useful information. Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer! Definitely would recommend staying at this little hidden gem of a place.

Our four night stay at Casa do Santo was FANTASTIC! The estate is beautiful, elegant and stylish, and Maria and her staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and to make you feel spoiled. The included breakfast was excellent, and so was the dinner that the estate offers upon request. Our room was spacious and lovely. The property has beautiful views of vineyards, and the tiny town in the gorgeous Douro Valley that it’s located in, Provesende, is charming. We hope to return, because Casa do Santo is an ABSOLUTE GEM!!!

Umm can I live here?! Honestly one of the most beautiful, thoughtful and just delightful places I’ve ever stayed. The guesthouse has been renovated to perfection (you can tell love went into every detail), located in an absolutely stunning and peaceful area. The family who owns and runs this property is amazing. I so enjoyed getting to know the manager, who is a very impressive young woman! One of the major highlights of my six weeks in Portugal! Cannot recommend Casa do Santo highly enough

We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical.
