We loved it here. Very peaceful up in the mountains. Well equipped kitchen. There are no bars, shops or restaurants within walking distance but the big supermarket in Santana is only 10 minutes drive. Excellent location for hiking.

Calm and peaceful place. The house is very atmospheric inside.

The flair of the old building, very spacious. The new installed AC did a very good job in heating the house it was really cozy. enough hot water, enough pressure, no problem at all ( but of course only person at a time showering).. Garden was also top! We really enjoyed the stay! Also top, that the waste is being separated! Billard table also top! And thanks for the welcome present!

It was not a problem, but the beds could be a bit softer and our stay a bit longer ;)

• The location is ideal to visit Pico Ruivo. Or to hike PR1.1 or parts of PR1.2 and PR1.3 (and many other stunning mountain hiking trails in this area of the island. • It is also calm and quiet in the area, away from the hustle and bustle in Funchal. • The host that received us at the property was very friendly! Made us feel right at home!

• The showers • The hot water was a problem with 4 people • To much clutter in the house • The cutlery, cups, plates, pans, pots etc. needs an upgrade.

The house is high in the mountains, so the temperature even in the hottest days is moderate up there.

The house is smelly (mustiness), like it was not visited for a longer time. It took us two days with all the windows open to make te smell bearable. But it stayed in all our clothes. The smell in the basement made it hard to really enjoy the pool table. We were unlucky and stay in the house over weekend. The neighbors houses were full of locals doing BBQ and talking loud outside.

We left the accomodation 2 days earlier. We had rats in the roof and around the house. There was no possibilty to sleep quiet because of the rats that were walking and squeeking in the roof above the rooms. We took another hotel.

Beautiful surroundings, a large cozy and authentically decorated house, and fully equipped. We loved our stay, it was peaceful and the owner came to help us when we experienced an issue, that was much appreciated.
