"Retreat to tranquility and gentility!"

We were greeted by Cheeky (the Portuguese Water Dog) at this charmingly restored country home in a beautiful district of Cascais. It sits just a short walk through the park to the marina or via pretty tree lined streets to the main tourist area. Enjoy the landscaped gardens, with a fabulous sun touching area and pool. Breakfasting on the shady terrace (full linen tablecloths and napkins) brings back memories of more civilised times! A tranquil and restful retreat, thoroughly recommended. Kind and attentive hosts. Comfortable large rooms and well appointed bathrooms.

Everything about Chalet Ficalho was exceptional. The owners are unbelievably kind and generous with their hospitality. The location is amazing. The property is gorgeous. We stayed here for the first two nights and then left for Lisbon and the entire time in Lisbon we kept saying how we wished we were back at the Chalet Ficalho. Don’t hesitate book this property and stay a day later than you think you should. I will be back!

Wonderful location for central Cascais and the marina. Very tastefully modernised, maintaining the ambience of a fine Manor House of the early 20th century. The owner/manager is a delightful and friendly host and the atmosphere is very relaxed. An excellent breakfast is included, in a traditional Portuguese style.
