Maison boutique Matteotti

Local Construction made our arrival a bit awkward, but our hotel host came to where we were and helped get us to the hotel. Such a lovely thing to do!

Property was in a perfect location near restaurants and sights.

The location is perfect. Quick and easy access to main areas. The host was exceptional and spent almost an entire day to help us with a problem (locked keys inside rental car on a Sunday)!!

There is nothing we didn’t like.

How accommodating Antonello and Clara were wrt luggage storage and arrival times. This place is so calm and cool after the business of the tourist areas. Around the corner are some very nice places to eat and it is a 5 minute walk from the main square. It is also ideal for those coming straight from Bari airport. The express coach stops a couple of hundred metres away on the far side of the renovated train station. Effortless transit. I want to wish this young couple every success with their venture. And yes watch the step!

They can’t do anything about this and in my younger days I would not have noticed. But yes you have to climb the stairs to the Maison Matteoti on the first floor.

It was in a good location for accessing the old town. The room was clean.

The pictures are deceptive. It is not the whole building but an apartment within it. It is scruffy outside. The area immediately opposite was an overgrown grassy area where youths loiter and a a single traveller I didn’t like coming back there at night. It is not a hotel so no communal areas but basically a serviced room which was not clear on the website.

Situation très proche du centre ville, il est possible de tout faire à pieds ! Parking possible pour 15€ par jour

Obligation de prendre son petit déjeuner dans la chambre car aucune pièce commune. Le même chaque jour, pas de variété, pas d'œufs ni de charcuterie. Pas de salon commun pour se poser.

I thought it was an ideal location, a short walk to the old town, and pretty quiet as it was away from the hustle and bustle of that area. There was a great bakery close by as well as restaurants and a gelataria. Antonio was a good host, good communication and gave plenty of tips on where to go. The room itself was very clean and a good size. For those arriving by car there was on-street parking very close at about €12 a day (I can’t recall exactly), in fact we could see our car from the room. I would recommend MBM.

I have stayed at places before that served breakfast in the room, but these all had balconies to sit and enjoy it. As this was not possible at MbM in hindsight I would have preferred to eat out at a local place. But this would not deter me from staying at MBM.
