Residenza Amalphia

The location is perfect - easy access to ferries, restaurants, and everything else Amalfi has to offer. The hotel is in a beautiful building and is easy to access. It’s clear the owners have a ton of pride in their work, and keep an immaculate space.

The stairs are the biggest complaint, but really not a big deal. Couple flights up and you’re in paradise.

We had the most magical stay in Amalfi thanks to Gerardo and Giovanna. The location was incredible - we stepped right into the heart of Amalfi Town (but couldn’t hear any noise when inside). Breakfast was delicious every morning (cappuccino, orange cake, ham, buffalo mozzarella, and so much more), the hosts are so sweet, and the rooms are just gorgeous. We can’t wait to come back one day.

I liked everything about the Residenza Amalphia. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The property is located about a ten minute walk from the port. The hosts were very generous in their welcome and throughout the three night stay. My stay here was one of the highlights of my trip to Amalfi.

Family run,home cooking,nothing is too much trouble.Good local knowledge.Gerardo,Joanna and their Dad (still a practicing physician) are assisted by Lily who does the maintenance.Access to the property is easy and is an easy walk from the ferry station and the main square.

Very convenient location, excellent breakfast, the Owners (brother, sister and father) very helpful and tried to accommodate our needs. The room was very clean and nicely decorated.

The entrance door to our room was located at the common hall (where the breakfast was daily served) and it was noisy in the mornings (starting at 8) from the residents that were having breakfast. The sound insulation of the room was not that good and there was a noise from a neighbor playing the TV every night. After our complain they have tried to identify who was the responsible person creating the problem but the next night the problem was repeated.

The building itself is a masterpiece – a lovingly restored treasure with soaring ceilings and magnificent original ceiling paintings that leave you absolutely mesmerized. Lying on the bed and gazing up at those detailed frescoes feels like being inside a dream. Every part of the hotel is tastefully and authentically restored, preserving the soul of the place while offering modern comfort. But what truly sets Residenza Amalphia apart are the wonderful people behind it – Giovanna, Gerardo, and their father. I’ve traveled extensively over the years, but I can sincerely say I have never experienced hospitality quite like this. Giovanna and Gerardo welcomed us not just as guests, but as family. They were always kind, present, and incredibly helpful – whether it was sharing the best local tips, helping us plan our daily adventures, or just taking a moment to check in and chat. Their care and warmth turned our trip into something truly unforgettable. And let’s talk about the breakfast – every morning was a delightful surprise. Alongside the classics, we were treated to a new homemade cake or pastry each day, always fresh, always delicious, and always served with a smile. Staying at Residenza Amalphia felt like staying in someone’s beautiful historic home, filled with love, history, and heart. If you’re planning a visit to the Amalfi Coast, do yourself a favor and stay here.
