Coco Island Resort Ninh Binh

The place really gives you a resort feel, with the pool being a few steps away from your room. We had a good time with the kids in the pool. Very green and lush, you can see many butterflies around and hear birds and insects.

The location wasn’t for me. I got bored right from the first day. It is remote, in the middle of rice fields, with NOTHING around, not even a shop within walking distance, you need a 15mins Grab to be within Ninh Binh centre. So i did feel missing out on Ninh Binh’s vibe. Plus the food in the restaurant was a 3/5 tastewise. The spaghetti was cooked in ketchup, the egg fried rice was very strange with the eggs on the side and the rice completely pink. Plus they added mayonnaise, ketchup and chilli sauce on top of nearly everything 🙈

Heerlijk rustig gelegen, maar toch vlakbij het centrum. De accommodatie is prachtig, mooie en schone kamers, lekker eten en vriendelijk personeel dat er alles aan doet om je te helpen.

The resort is absolutely stunning. Very relaxing, lots of greenery and a lovely pool. Everything is very good value for money, despit feeling so luxurious. They have mopeds that you can rent for half day, and bicycles are also free for the guests to use.

This is not specific to the hotel, but rather the country. We visited at the end of May, where the very hot humid season had already begun. I believe we may have enjoyed the resprt wven more in the slighlty cooler months.

Die Zimmer und das Bad waren geräumig und schön ausgestattet. Das Frühstück bestach durch eine große Auswahl.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals war oberflächlich, als wir echte Hilfe gebraucht hätten, zog man sich zurück und speiste uns mit Phrasen ab. Die Koffer wurden nur bei Ankunft zum Zimmer getragen, bei der Abfahrt musste man zur Hilfe auffordern. Die Unterkunft liegt außerhalb, zu allen Attraktionen ist die Buchung eines Taxis erforderlich. Das Restaurant ist überteuert.

Mice den!!!

PLEASE READ until the end. Multiple mice inside the room! And no we didn't leave the door open, as the manager claimed (tons of mice poop and fur behind the minibar prove that mice are simply living in the hotel) pictures are attached. In addition we suffered from a suspicious WhatsApp fraud two months prior to our arrival which knew all our reservation details from this hotel, in order to make us pay the full Amount of our stay. After we paid, we contacted the hotel which told us it is a fraud! They immediately wrote that they had a data breach by hackers. if it was so why didn't they inform all the future guests about this data breach? We contacted booking.com who refunded the fraud amount. Despite that we came with a smile and an open heart with two young kids to our vacation. Mice in the room are one thing, but when I came to the reception asking for a solution or for a mice trap - the receptionist was sleeping on the reception couch and said that only in the morning they can handle it. In the morning after we didn't sleep all night we asked two things: Move to another room and not to pay for the haunted mice night. The receptionist told us arrogantly that they will not charge the room however we cannot stay the other night at the hotel since and I quote "they can't insure that the next room won't have mice in it" We talked by the phone with the manager of the hotel who repeated the same. After the incident in order to avoid bad reviews and booking.com commission they reported to booking that we never stayed in the hotel and didn't show up (the pictures prove a different story, booking.com contacted us and we attached all the proof including the hotel's invoice. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!

Nice and peaceful setting. Lovely, clean pool area. Very accommodating staff. Huge rooms and beds. I booked a day early so I could check in at 3am. The hotel responded to me right away and made the arrangements for me. What I didn’t expect was a member of staff sleeping on a sofa in the reception to check me in. I felt so bad about that. I couldn’t believe they did that for me. Very grateful. Breakfast is brilliant! Nothing is too much trouble.

There’s nothing not to like really. Just be aware it’s right in the middle of Tam Coc and Ninh Binh so if you don’t hire a scooter or bicycle you won’t be able to walk to anything close by.
