I booked at this hotel and was supposed to receive an email within 24 hours of check-in with lockbox instructions to get my room key. I never received an email. There is no front office on the property so there was nobody to talk to about checking in. The number listed on Expedia went straight to voicemail because the office isn’t open on weekends and the number on Google was disconnected. I was pressed for time and could not check-in to the room I booked so I had to search nearby for a hotel with vacancies and I ended up paying significantly more for another hotel. This happened over 24 hours ago and The Ave has still not returned my call. When I spoke with Expedia customer service, the representative called The Ave and also could not get in touch with them. This situation was quite stressful, frustrating, and expensive. All of it could’ve been avoided if The Ave sent the email with check-in instructions. If you’re going to have a hotel without a front desk, at least have an answering service so that guests can figure out how to get into the room they paid for. It was a $100 room so I guess you get what you pay for. But in this case I didn’t even get that.
