This motel was great and perfect for a nights sleep on trip through South Dakota! Jayne was so nice and accommodating! She checked in on us and was very easy and quick to respond to any questions!

The Wagon Wheel was the perfect place to rest after a day in the Badlands. Nice quiet town off the interstate with virtually ZERO traffic. Room was super clean and well stocked! Felt very cozy and even had a back deck/terrace. Jane was more than accommodating on such short notice!

Second stay in a week at the Wagon Wheel Motel in Wasta, SD (because we like it that much). Fantastic little place -- fully rehabbed with comfortable beds, kitchenettes, back deck, front porch, easy parking and all the important little stuff. I do recommend bringing a few groceries with you, or prepare to dine in an adjoining town (Wall) -- the Wasta Bar rocks, but kitchen "may" be closed for various reasons. Awesome place for a cocktail or two though!

This is a true diamond! Do not let the old fashioned motor lodge look or the small community fool you. This is a real deal awesome property. Everything was just perfect. The host, Jayne, is a peach. We loved this property and it is great for exploring Badlands NP. Highly recommend.

Newly renovated. Very clean.

Our room at Wagon Wheel was great. Walls and ceilings are all wood. Nice work on the carpentry. I guess we called it rustic modern. Kitchenette had a 2 burner glass top stove, fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Silverware, dishes and pots and pans are available. Important to remember is to bring your own food. Jayne had called us to remind us there are no stores in Wasta, just a bar. Bathroom was well-stocked with towels. Bedding was very nice and soft. My back would've loved a pillow top mattress. Our reasons for visiting Wasta was to get away from Rapid City, a new moon which meant darker skies and the railroad bridge minutes away. We waited to be able to shoot the milky way. We had a little trouble re-entering the room at midnight due to our own failings. But we finally got back in. Make sure to get comfortable using the lock system :). Highly recommend this motel for those who want an exceptionally clean room and quiet property. Our room didn't have a smoke detector that I noticed. However, there are at least 3 fire extinguishers right outside. The back deck was great and flower baskets added to the overall look of the property.

This was a breeze of an accommodation! Jane was so helpful with her informational call before check-in. Especially seeing as I made a very last minute booking!
