Maison Dandelion

Location is quiet and private. This is a studio so small but it is perfectly OK for a short stay.

Our trip was really impacted by the refusal of the owner to let us have the controls for the air conditioning. We asked her for them, and again via the agent handling the property, and were told that they were not available due to power outages. Note that this was a week of temperatures between 29 and 34 degrees. We were happy not to use aircon during actual power outages, but these were a couple of hours, sometimes 4 hours per day and most often not in the heat of the day. We cooked. We would have left had we not got friends visiting Franschoek to meet up with us on 2 different days. We felt that we were not trusted to manage the aircon situation and/or there was another agenda here. It really overshadowed our stay. We would suggest that the photo showing the aircon is removed from the site and it is made clear that the book saying not to use aircon (or the washing machine and oven) also makes it clear that not "during power outages" means not in the 24 hours at all if the power is off at all. We have stayed in Franschoek maybe 10 or 12 times, most often self catering, and would go back to any of the other units we have stayed in but not this one sadly.

Good location, lovely venue, quiet and peaceful.

It felt like our privacy was not respected and we were being monitored by the host. We are paying customers and adults and do not need to be told what we should and shouldn't be doing.

The apartment was very clean,had modern kitchenette.But the oven had no shelves so could not be used,it had air conditioning but no controls so could not be used.It was in a small back garden and lacked some privacy.nice for some but note my cup of tea .

Apartment was very cozy and comfortable, a sham the owner was not very friendly.
