Kruger Park Hostel

Eu amei ter estado no Hostel Kruger Park <3 O lugar, as pessoas e a energia do lugar será algo que vou levar para sempre na memória. Consegui ver 4 dos 5 big five, fiquei a 4m distancia de um girafa enquanto caminhava para ver o por do sol, foi emocionante. Me arrependi de não ter ficado mais tempo. Acredito que para um bom aproveitamento, já que 2 dias são de deslocamento ate chegar ao park, seria de 5 dias para fazer todas as atividades. Os Game Safaris (2x) + panorama route + Essuatíni + curtir o hostel (no minimo). Quero voltar em breve!

O quarto que fiquei poderia ter ar condicionado estava muito quente, os 2 ventiladores não deram conta. Mas sei que é um quarto novo e que futuramente eles devem colocar. Fora isso, não tenho nada a acrescentar, só agradecer.

A acomodação foi bom, mas não ótima. Passei poucos dias então foi suficiente pra mim. O café deixou muito a desejar assim como o jantar. Muito fraco.

Wir hätten uns keine schönere Unterkunft beim Kruger Park wünschen können. Alle Menschen dort sind so freundlich und immer gut gelaunt, es fühlt sich direkt familiär an und man fühlt sich total wohl! Es gibt ein tolles Angebot an Touren (z.B Safaris oder Panorama Route) und alles ist top organisiert und gleichzeitig nicht durchgetaktet. Einen Transfer vom Flughafen Nelspruit gibt es auch. Abends wird für alle Gäste gekocht (auch vegetarische Optionen gibt es) und es schmeckt wahnsinnig gut. Das gemeinsame Abendessen an einem langen Tisch sowie das Angebot an Abendaktivitäten führt dazu, dass man schnell miteinander ins Gespräch kommt. Trotzdem bietet die Unterkunft Rückzugsmöglichkeiten und manchmal sogar die Möglichkeit, Wildtiere wie Zebras, Kudus und Warzenschweine am Pool zu treffen! Robert, Oliver and Lebo are super friendly and made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. The volunteers are also great and bring a special energy to the hostel. I also thought that the room was nice and well-decorated (although there are no curtains for the bathroom window).

1. They made an error booking my sunset safari and did not inform me until 15 minutes before I was supposed to leave; this meant that I had insufficient time to book something new and was unable to go on a game drive in Kruger (which was the whole reason I came). There was no gesture of goodwill / discount offered despite this, and I had to spend a lot of money changing my flights and booking two extra nights at a different (and thankfully better) establishment so that my trip wasn’t completely ruined. When leaving, there was not even an apology; I have stayed at a lot of hostels, and have never experienced customer service this poor before. 2. For vegans, the food provisions are inadequate and I was consistently hungry. The hostel is not self-catered and is in an isolated part of Marloth Park with no nearby shops. Therefore, the catered service is essential. However, at breakfast/brunch, there is nothing for vegans apart from fruit as they use egg in the bread and do not provide any non-dairy milk alternatives. The dinner portions are very small and insufficient when considering that this is the only real meal provided. If you are doing a half-day safari, your day begins at 5am and having only soup and salad after that is unacceptable. 3. There was no wifi in my room (Room 6). 4. The communication pre-arrival is not great. I tried to book a transfer from Kruger Airport to the hostel and my messages were ignored for two weeks. Overall, I cannot recommend this hostel. Coming to Kruger is a special, once-in-a-lifetime experience and they almost ruined that for me. If you do book, book your activities yourself on the Kruger website and if you have dietary requirements, come with a lot of snacks/microwave meals!
