Shieling Cottage at Lovelady Shield

The overall location was nice, Facilities within the lounge and dining area were very good.

Cleanliness and lack of available cleaning equipment, very musty and lots of dog hair. My partner smelt a very “doggy” smell on the Friday evening and got taken into hospital having an asthma attack and allergic reaction to the smell, hyperventilating and spent the rest of the first evening in hospital to try and steady his breathing, this left us very sceptical for the rest of the stay.

Really nice house, modern, well equipped, comfortable, and everything as you'd expect. Well above expectations.

The weather!

Everything was lovely, nice and quiet and perfect location

The staff were very helpful, kind, and caring. Lovely location lovely views the cottage was very clean and nice and warm . Food in the main hotel was very nice and reasonable priced. If you book directly with them, you get it cheaper. Sadly, I didn't know at the time . Overall the staff and the cottage made my holiday really enjoyable couldn't thank them enough for a great holiday.

There is nothing to dislike .just I think the mattress probably needs changing as if you got to close the edge, it felt like you were going to fall out of bed .

We loved our last minute visit this weekend. After the rain ruined our plans to go camping we really enjoyed staying in this cosy cottage for the weekend. Very dog friendly and comfortable. Thank you :)

Lovely location, had everything that you would need, on-staff were amazingly reactive and very helpful.

We initially had some issues with the wifi but the on site team were so responsive and managed to fix it, temporarily for the first evening and then completely for the next day.
