Absolutely delightful cottage, in beautiful setting of an old walled garden, and orchard, and in a lovely quiet village by the Tyne.

Minor initial problems fixed. Internet occasionally erratic as uses mobile signal dongle. (Tumble dryer is marked on Booking.com site in error. ) All minor in comparison to delightful relaxing setting. Hammock in orchard especially delightful.

The very definition of a hidden gem ! Set in the extensive grounds of the main house, the cottage had everything you need for a great stay. While it looks tiny from the outside, the rooms were surprisingly spacious: the accommodation came with a full kitchen, lounge with TV and log burner as well as a decent size bedroom and comfortable bed. There was also a fair size patio which at dusk turned into a dining room for badgers and foxes ! All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

Unique & Beautiful location . Charming property

Loved everything about this place. Nice comfortable cottage for two. Great gardens and had access to all grounds. Secret gate led into the woods and down to the river. Jim the Gardener/Groundsman was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a couple of fish heads telling us to attach them to the tree in the evening and sit and watch. Absolutely amazing to see 3 badgers come out from the woods and take the fish heads. Great experience. We were also allowed to pick fruit from the many fruit trees, apples, pears and plums. Can’t rate this place enough. Definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Sheets appeared not to have been changed on the bed. I contacted the owner by text and email for a response after our stay, but have had no reply.
