Rose Cottage - Cosy cottage in Millers Dale

The cottage is wonderfully cozy and suits us perfectly for the one nights stay. The only thing that concerns us is the lack of security for the dogs in the garden, (this is not the fault of the owners at all) but for one night and well behaved dogs, the grass verge in front is adequate, we were early this time, (second visit) we found the Monsal trial literally across the rd which was absolutely stunning and perfect to exercise them after the long journey from Surrey, it’s a round robin so well worth it to tire them out and have a peaceful night in front of the new log burner which is absolutely brilliant. The beds are super comfy and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The kitchen provides everything you need, we imagine for a longer stays everything you need is there.

It’s not a criticism as such, but we like to read, a lower table lamp in the sitting room with the Log burner, would provide better lighting enabling one to read, the standard lights where not bright enough, with overhead room lighting disrupting the relaxing ambiance of the firelight setting.

Well equipped spacious cottage, the owners had taken great care and effort to ensure a great stay. Perfect base to explore from. A short walk to a great pub and walking distance to the Monsal trail.

The cottage was so quaint, great welcome pack with everything you need with a homely feel. Definitely will be returning with my dogs, ideal location for walking with a friendly pub within walking distance. Great communication with clear instructions, before arriving and after. Ian kindly contacted within a hour of leaving as i had forgotten something in the cottage.

Very comfortable stay, we felt at home straight away. Beautiful cottage and owners had thought of everything we may need. Good location for exploring nearby towns.
