It was clean

It stated that there was a kitchen but there wasn’t so There was no way to wash things up or cook. The bed was a pull out sofa bed and was not comfortable . The description should state this and it states that it’s a cottage it’s not and was in the owners garden.

"A very enjoyable stay"

9.0

Lovely peaceful location, cosy inside and use of a small garden. We were able to park in the drive. Not far from Weybridge shops, pubs and river walks.

Not having a kitchen is not ideal but we booked knowing that.

"No kitchen - be sure to read all reviews"

5.0

Xanthe the host was delightful and did everything she could to make the stay successful. HOWEVER, I do wish I had read every review and realised there was NO KITCHEN in this property. I had assumed that searching for the category “entire property” would mean that a kitchen was taken as given as in normal living accommodation. Whilst there is a kettle, toaster & microwave in the lounge, there is no facility to wash up, and you are specifically told to leave ‘cutlery’ on the yellow tray which will be washed elsewhere by the owner, and NOT to wash it in the bathroom sink. It turns out ‘cutlery’ actually includes crockery as well, and that one puts it all on the yellow tray and leaves it outside the entrance door. As we had brought food with us to self-cater the lack of kitchen was an immediate let down. There is a full size fridge freezer. The freezer is full of what we assume is the owners food. Water for drinking is provided in several jugs left in the fridge. The description I would use for this property is ‘Garden guest suite’, situated in a small garden of a semi-detached house in what to us is a scruffy area. Parking is a nightmare, the driveway is at an extremely steep angle, and there is a protruding step that one must make sure to avoid with your vehicle. We had been told there was plenty of room for our two cars, but that wasn’t the case. The road is jammed packed with parked vehicles. Our advice, be sure to use Google Street View (or similar) before booking. Finally, Xanthe tries her best to make the stay successful, but overall we were disappointed. We run a holiday let at our home ourselves, and know what is involved, but the description and in our opinion the photos are misleading. Oddly a small run of kitchen units where the fridge and dresser is with a sink, two ring hob and under counter fridge would be very easy to install as all the plumbing is available. Quite why this is not provided we have no clue.

"Some nice privacy in a little lovely cottage!"

8.0

First of all wanted to thank the host, even though we didn't have a chance to meet, she was very helpful on the phone. The location is great. On arrival, it's looks like its going to be just a simple house, like hundreds in that neighbourhood, but once we got inside the territory and seen the beautiful cottage (I wouldn't say cottage, more like a lodge, due to no kitchen, and more more luxurious) further down, hidden in the beautiful garden. The cottage is beautifully decorated, fresh flowers, big bottle of water in the fridge, toiletries, towels, tea and coffee facilities and even some delicious cookies (maybe homemade). First, on arrival, it was a bit cold inside, even though the host left turned on electric radiators for us, but within 30 minutes it's became very warm inside. Spacious longe with TV and dining table. Cosy bedroom with huge bed. The garden was very lovely, especially the view from the garden, unfortunately we didn't enjoy the garden much, as we arrived late and it was freezing outside. Me and my husband definitely liked the privacy we got during our stay, exactly what we was looking for. We would come again.

When I was booking I didn't realise that there is no kitchen. Fridge, microwave and kettle are placed in the longe, only sink in bathroom, no cooker. So this place is definitely not good to consider to cook something during the stay. Bring some snacks, like we did👌 Also as there is no heater and no socket in the bathroom, it's very cold to take shower, or even to use the toilet. During cold times, might a bit upset. Maybe a long, minimum 3 meter extension would save the day, literally to drag the radiator into the bathroom. And one more thing, it was very dark, pich black in the garden in the sitting area. Otherwise, everything was amazing. Thanks a lot.

"Please read reviews.. awful sofa bed ( for £140)??"

5.0

When we first opened the door, we thought wow this is lovely. It looked clean and comfortable and a nice touch also the cookies that were left for us to enjoy, l’m sure if you stayed in the summer the garden area which does look over Brooklands track and it’s very well laid ,would be a delight but not in winter and I think should reflect the price BUT..back to the cabin.

There was no mention of a sofa bed. It was the most uncomfortable sleep I thiink I have ever endured. I ended up getting out of bed and trying to sleep on the sofa with a cover over me. but only room for one, which wasn’t much better. After the long drive from Derbyshire and a full day, it was a terrible night . Also receiving messages 2 of telling us to turn the lights off on leaving the property . There was an outside light outside this cabin which really should be left on at all times so paying customers can see their way in the dark.. but from a very steep driveway through a gate and then into the dark garden. and back out again, but because of the messages we felt we had to use our torch.. we paid enough but felt we were being harassed. We never did meet the lady of the property. ALSO the bathroom had two mats on the floor which were very wet.. and later discovered there was a leak coming from under the unit where the sink was.. and that was after picking up the mats and skidding in the next time we went to use the bathroom. It has nowhere to wash up any plates, cups, etc except in the bathroom sink!! And not even a waste paper basket to put used teabags or coffee wrappers in.( It did have a medium size one in the bathroom but feel there should have two.) I think for £140 you can do much better in the area and at least have a decent bed to sleep in.

"A comfortable and enjoyable stay when attending a conference. Highly recommended."

10.0

There was no breakfast included, so I didn't expect one. The location was in a quiet and green area, 15 minutes walk to Brooklands Museum and 25 minutes walk to Weybridge train station. The place is very cosy, tidy and spacious for a couple of people.

Honestly, there is nothing to dislike or improve. Everything is just fine or even better than expected.
