Penang Marriott Hotel

Firstly the location was perfect - 'sweet spot' along Gurney Drive with key attractions and amenities not more than a 15 minute walk away. The hotel facilities were modern and very well-appointed with the environment and rooms very clean and luxurious. The whole experience was made very smooth and hassle-free by the wonderful response and attention to detail by the staff, led ably and dedicatedly by the Loyalty Manager, Ummi Khaleida, whom I had the privilege and pleasure of communicating with prior to the trip to iron out some details, and also in person when she greeted us at the lobby and kept in touch with us throughout to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable! Also good service and response to queries and issues by the front desk team - also a special 'shout out' to the wonderful staff at the M Club Lounge for being very accommodating and always serving and entertaining us with warm smiles. A wholly meaningful and pleasant trip to Penang made all that much more wonderful with our stay at the Penang Marriot Hotel! Definitely coming back!

This is the most overpriced hotel we ever stay. It's not bad actually but at almost MYR1000 a night, it's not value for money. And with such a rate, the in room coffee is just instant powder sachet!! We are Bonvoy member and been enjoying the other properties in Mariott Group. This is the first time we encounter one that's not worth the value we paid for. The property is small. Swimming pool is small, and the jacuzzi not worlking half the time. The hotel in my opinion is not meant for family with kids. Though there is a kids room but it's not interesting at all.

The hotel room was really superb. Spacious, nice view. The hotel staff very humble.

We went for the Christmas day buffet this year as we were told it was the best for expats like ourselves. The hotel booked us in for 2pm with an email confirming the time. On the day, the hotel are then phoning us at 1pm to ask where we were and if we were coming at all as the buffet was 12pm-3pm. So why book us in for 2pm?? When we got there the traditional Christmas day food available was lamb, turkey, beef or beef wellington, all were freezing cold, I'm talking straight from the fridge cold. Yorkshire puddings, cold and rock hard. The veg available was broccoli, carrots, and some peppers, again all cold and under cooked. There were 2 options available for the gravy, onion and black pepper, again cold. We laughed about it and made the best of a bad situation as nothing was going to spoil our day. I certainly wouldn't recommend this Christmas day buffet to anybody I knew or anybody wanting to celebrate the day as a westerner, it simply wasn't worth the money. And do you know what annoyed me the most? It was the fact that at 2.30pm, before the buffet had closed to the paying guests like myself, the staff were up there helping themselves to the food and when I went to the sushi bar to get some sushi, there was none left as the staff infront of me had taken the last remaining bits. We'll go somewhere else next year for sure.

All of the things in here was good the food the pool even the children playroom worker was nice to our kids

There’s nothing in this hotel that i don’t like because all the things in here is amazing

I had breakfast at the Club Lounge and L3. Wide variety of food . Generous amount. .Service was good and efficient.

On check in, I was not told that I could have breakfast on L 3 .
