School Lane Hotel in Liverpool ONE

Nice new hotel in great shopping area. Walkable and convenient. Staff was nice and rooms were clean. Amazing shower. No complimentary water bottle in rooms. No mini fridge. Lobby is small with complimentary pastries and coffee. No amenities.

Great rooms that were clean, a perfect size for one or two people, and comfortable both physically and aesthetically. Access was easy, check in staff were prompt and friendly, and the location could not be better!

I feel incredibly misled by the description of this hotel. There is nothing remotely four stars about this property. Super basic room with a bathroom the size of a powder room. Very uncomfortable bed. Dirty linens and used glasses. No robes, no slippers, no wash cloths, not even a box of tissues. No restaurant, no security, no bellman and no amenities. Absolutely does not qualify for four stars. This was a bait and switch. Front desk staff was friendly and courteous and location is very central but I probably would have experienced more frills at a local youth hostel.

Lovely Hotel located right in the centre of Liverpool One, Excellent Service from Hotel Staff, Room ideal for family of 4, really nice size with everything you need, very secure property for any solo travellers

I booked this for a nights stay for my wife and 2 daughters. My wife said that they all had an amazing time. The rooms were very clean and modern. Comfy beds and pillows. The facilities in the room were brilliant too. It's right in the centre of Liverpool. Easily walkable to transport routes and the main shopping area of the city centre. There is also plenty of options to go for food within a few minutes walk too. We are planning to go back together soon

Excellent location for exploring Liverpool by foot. Welcoming staff, good breakfast, rooms are quiet for city centre, well sized and clean.

Pros: great location Cons: very poor room insulation (you van hear every time someone opens a door on your floor). The king bed which was two twin beds pushed together was very uncomfortable because the 'joining' of the two small beds was done poorly and there was a big divet/decline in middle.

The guest rooms are spotless, very clean with a minimal aesthetic. While I personally tend to prefer colour and some personality, the rooms are calming, the large beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are lovely, with a massive shower. Inside the room there's a safe, iron and ironing board, but the one thing we found really odd was that for such a new hotel, none of the plugs included USB outlets, so you'll need to bring a 3 pin plug charging cable for your phone. Location wise, despite being slap bang in the middle of Liverpool One, this is the quietest hotel in Liverpool I've ever stayed in! Many city hotels are essentially party hotels, packed full of rowdy groups, but School Lane Hotel had a lovely laid back and chill vibe and there was no antisocial behaviour. Parking at Q Parks Hanover street was a doddle and the hotel is a few minutes walk – I’d recommend pre booking and you’ll get a small discount on the usual 24 hour parking rate. One thing that did strike me as a little off was the need to pay an additional £50 security deposit on check in, which takes several days to be paid back following check out. This is typical in hotels that have a mini bar but given there's no mini bar and no restaurant, it feels unnecessary to me. In the morning there’s a small area next to reception with some pastries (which were decent quality) and a coffee machine, which was a nice touch. Next time we’re going out in the city centre, we’ll definitely consider staying at School La
