Grays Court Hotel

Exceptional hotel, beautiful rooms, library, bar and gardens. Staff were all wonderful and very attentive. Breakfast was nice and filling, excellent selection of wines.

Would have preferred more options to eat in the hotel; there was very limited availability in the restaurant and having had the tasting menu on one night we would have liked to eat there again.

Really well run hotel in the old treasurer's house adjacent to the York Minster. Beautiful building, lovely rooms, fantastic garden within the city walls.

Expensive, but one could expect this in central York. Bow Room restaurant disappointing, and also pricey.

Tranquil convenient city centre location, just inside city walls. A comfortable and beautiful listed heritage building with emclosed relaxing gardens to view or explore. Attentive staff providing friendly and excellent service throughout with unexpected personal touches. Well-stocked bar and delicious freshly prepared foods, served in the impressive long gallery or dining room, both with great views. Clean, warm and very comfortable rooms with opening sash windows, period furnishings and decor, also well-serviced and with good facilities. Quiet at night despite being only moments away from York Minster, shops and restaurants. Pre-bookable on-site parking (at extra charge) a great option. Would not hesitate to recommend or return.

Grays Court was wonderful! The building is charming and comfortable, the breakfast is delightful, the staff is welcoming and helpful. Great location to walk from to see York. Overall, an exceptional experience.

Gorgeous accommodations, delicious food, wonderful staff, and perfectly situated in town

We had an incredible stay at this stunning hotel, rich with history and charm. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegant atmosphere and beautifully preserved details throughout the property. The staff were absolutely fantastic warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to detail truly made are stay special. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing experience.

Great location. Very comfortable considering the age and type of building. Beautiful garden.

Extremely expensive extras. Considering the location the room was a fair price but drinks and nibbles were ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. I am also a smoker and was surprised to find that smoking in the garden was prohibited. Why? Instead I had to smoke outside the front door Which seems a bit silly.
