The Horizon Ipoh Stay by Grab A Stay

Building was pretty amazing, the room was clean (except the bathroom a bit, see note.) Bed was super comfy, I loved that. The rooftop situation is really cool.

The check-in is a little disconcerting at first but I didn't realize it was a "self-check-in" because I've never experienced anything quite like that before, so it was kind of on me. As nice as the place is, I personally prefer a bit of staff presence when I'm staying somewhere. Kind of impersonal, this concept. Location isn't really ideal for getting to the old town, which is really the primary thing to do in Ipoh. Grabs are cheap though, and it's easy to get them from there. Also - and this was a small thing balanced against much that was excellent - but someone (I'm assuming it had to be staff) used the toilet in my room before I checked into it and peed on the floor and the toilet seat. Kind of gross. Either that, or it just got missed in the cleanup from the previous guest. It wasn't a lot, and I cleaned it up. I'm not the kind of person that gets super upset about that sort of thing, but it was a weird start to my stay.

Great view from the pool. Good location. Quiet, good quality mattress and clean room.

Occasional sewer smell from shower drains in the bathroom.

The unit 13A07 was good and clean. The staff who register for me when i check in on first day was nice and helpful, unfortunately I forget the name.

The lift always wet because of the swimmers, the second staff no smile, and just watched even though he saw people cannot open the entrance door
