The mattress in room 1019 was terrible, felt like it was broken. No room service after midnight so we had to go out looking for a takeaway. Breakfast was a disaster. We booked room only, but decided we wanted buffet breakfast in the morning. Turned up, joined the queue, got to the front only to be told as we hadn’t pre paid for breakfast and there was a shortage of seats we had to let everyone else behind us in the queue go in front of us as guests who had booked bed and breakfast were being prioritised. Because of the shortage of seats they were seating guests in the bar so not a great experience. Check in - when we arrived, we gave our details to reception and they couldn’t find our booking. Eventually, after us showing our booking paperwork they discovered that they had given our room to someone else with a similar surname. They then took 20 minutes to find us a room. They found a room but housekeeping hadn’t cleaned it so we had to wait 45 minutes in the bar. To be fair the receptionist did her absolute best to resolve the situation, which wasn’t of her making. She gave us a couple of complimentary drinks too. We thought that was the end of it but when we were out that night we received an email from the hotel to say our reservation had been cancelled! When we queried this on our return to the hotel they couldn’t explain what had happened, but it was quite worrying as we thought we weren’t going to have anywhere to stay that night.

Great location; clean; nice accommodations.

Bathroom is a little small. Don’t like the half shower door that is so common in Europe!
