The location is beautiful and quiet. The rooms are quiet and well laid out. Lots of animals. It was a very relaxing trip.

I loved staying here. I wish I could have stayed longer. I loved being right on the water in the Datai area without the really high cost of the resort down the road. I enjoyed walks along the beach and along the road looking for wildlife. I got to watch a hornbill looking for crabs from the deck if my villa. I could do with a refresh, but then they'd charge a lot more to stay there.

Could have known more about the local wildlife.

Excellent staff - really! Very nice food. Nice beach. Nice pool (that doesn't reek like chlorine). Quiet. King size bed. Very spacious rooms. Quite comfortable all in all.

Food portions could be larger. Rooms and property should be better kept for such a luxury property. Examples: some trash on the property. Beach not cleaned of litter. Rooms need some maintenance (broken wood furniture, dirty windows). Other restaurants are quiet far - the closest is at the golf course (the Datai is closed to non-guests). The golf course restaurant is excellent, though. Note: Datai guards try to keep you off the beach - you have to remind them the beach is public. Then they'll let you "pass" and continue your walk along the beach.

Natural setting, kind and prompt staff

Very tired requires refurbishment, no bar, limited food options, 30-40 min drive to restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. A car is definitely required. Beach not good for swimming

One of the main reasons we booked the villas was the location. Datai Bay, with its blue waters in the middle of the rainforest, is absolutely stunning, with lots of monkeys and birds around. The location is very isolated, and the only people you see on the beach are guests of the nearby luxury Datai Resort. You can use their beach and buy drinks at the bar (though it’s not cheap). The host was extremely hospitable, friendly, and helpful. The swimming pool is huge and perfect for proper swimming. For breakfast, we had several options to choose from, which was very nice. The snack menu and dinners were very tasty, and the prices were reasonable. We were very lucky to be the only guests at the time. The property has four villas, and we occupied two of them. The kids really enjoyed the billiard table and the games in the common area. We also went kayaking to a nearby uninhabited island, which was great fun. Overall, we had a super pleasant stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

Although the property is very clean, some wooden elements are in need of maintenance. The location is quite isolated, so if you are planning to visit other parts of the island, it’s best to have your own car or know a driver you can contact for pick-ups at a reasonable price. Taxis to this location are more expensive than to anywhere else on Langkawi. The part of the beach directly in front of the Saujana Villas is a bit messy and has quite a bit of rubbish brought in by the high tides. The rest of Datai Beach is cleaned and maintained by the Datai Resort.

Lovely welcome from the staff who looked after us very well. Very calming place. Looking forward to coming back
