HOTEL GRANDE

The positives for this hotel were the very friendly and helpful staff, on site parking and outside the immediate city so avoiding the pollution. The pool is too shallow to swim and really is just for children. The breakfast, understandably , is geared to Asian people so very limited. Sad no fruit juices or a wider choice. It was also strange that at the weekend breakfast was served on the 8th floor with a buffet selection. Come Monday no buffet and a very limited choice served on the ground floor. Old scaffolding also still up outside our room window which from the rust suggests it’s been there since the hotel was built. Some simple changes to the hotel would make a big difference

Hotel is quite new and the facilities are complete. Love the big room and bathroom.

For a rate of 10k/night there was no ref in the room, no outlets near the beds, no lamp shade. they only provided 1 extension cord plugged near the TV. The toilet smells like sewer. There were no complimentary tea since im not a coffee drinker. With it’s price I expected the facilities were great but turned out to be disappointing.

Big room, very clean and new, bathroom was big and clean as well. Staff very accommodating and quick to assist and provide all requests. Allowed us to bring bike into the room. Breakfast was great, lots of choices, only needs better coffee and less sugary drinks.

Went there for a new years eve celebration with family. We requested beforehand vegetarian options for the meal and it was told to us that there will be some available. In reality only siders (mashed potatoes, a salad, etc) were prepared. When we asked the sushi chef to make us some Kappa Maki, he denied. We had to go through the management to finally get at least one of the promised vegetarian options. Underwhelming. The band was loud and actually quite bad. I mean the drummer couldn't find a beat, singers were not that skilled either. Falls back on management, again, to hire such an outfit. After 9pm, we could transfer to the veranda on the 5th floor. We were given paper cups (!!!) "for draft beer" (quote). Gosh, that left an impression. You guys don't want to offer glasses to your paying guests? We'll, it seems they got the message from not so happy guests and suddenly glasses were available. Drinks were served from 9:30pm, so we sat at an empty table for 30min. What a bummer and what bad planning. Beer was good (German beers, lager and white beer), the offered wines were atrocious (sour). I don't even want to mention the buffet with a dead end where people got stuck and the following people had to make space over and over again, so it was horribly slow. Again, bad band until fireworks and final call at 12:30 due to noise restrictions. Overall an underwhelming experience. Not recommended.

booked 6 rooms (pay at the property). 3 days prior to arrival, a frontdesk officer called to offer me a “lower rate” given that i cancel my bookings thru hotels.com & book directly with them. I politely declined since i booked a pay at the property rate wc is usually higher than non-refundable&pay upon booking rates. However, they obliged me to pay half of the total amount of the 6 rooms citing that it’s peak season (why offer pay at the property rates then?). i paid 50% prior to arrival to secure the booking and to avoid any cancellation. Upon arrival, check in experience was ok. Rooms were ok except for the no phones to use to call frontdesk or housekeeping for assistance just in case wc is such a hassle. Breakfast buffet experience was ok (food not so yummy except for dimsum) during the first day but on the second day, it was terrible. We arrived past 9am since it was christmas day, we woke up late. tables were no longer set, when i asked for utensils, a female attendant told me to check in the basket near the dimsum area. As to the christmas buffet, spread was good but the entertainment felt like it was a wedding banquet because of the song choices of the live band. Request for room upgrade for a fee was granted (thanks to Ms. Mona - the only exception to the generally poor service). However, the room given was not thoroughly clean when we arrived. The toilet still had urine from the previous guest i guess & roach too Hotel staff do not smile. We did not feel welcome.

Such a cozy place. My kids loved it especially the view from our room and from the veranda. The breakfast buffet is superb. Will definitely choose this hotel again

Stayed at rm403. 2 Qn sized bed, Spacious room, nice bathroom but no tub, bathroom door cant be locked, not functioning. brkfast buffet is good, not much choices, fried egg, overcooked. Dimsums good though. Enough parking slots.
