What a wonderful place to be! Francesca and her brother Gianmarco made the perfectly renovated chalet right on the lake into a perfect place for relaxing days and sightseeing in the area. The elegant atmosphere - combined with as perfect as warm hearted service - made us feel at home from the first minute on. Immaculately clean rooms and breakfast in the morning sun on the cozy terrace, delicious dinner and sunny hours on their private little beach added all up to the perfect short vacation we were hoping for. This is an absolutely beautiful villa on the lake with amazing views. We had a lovely room which was comfortable and clean. The host was very welcoming and friendly. He gave us excellent recommendations for a wonderful dinner. Our breakfast was served beautifully and it was delicious. The grounds surrounding the property are well maintained and very nice. I can highly recommend this property.

It was conveniently sited for our drive to London the next morning. We wanted to see Lake Maggiore, and we did. It was possible to see the lake from the bedroom. Once is enough though frankly.

It should be made very clear on your site and their own that this property is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We knew there was no lift, so asked for a room with as few stairs as possible, since stairs are difficult for my wife. The owners did not reply and instead gave us a room right at the top of the building. Also the "free parking on site" is in fact a shallow lay-by on the busy road below, with about 25 steep steps to climb to reach the property. I had to push the owner to be allowed to park up in front of the building, which certainly helped, but still left almost 50 steps to the room. Obviously this is not a problem for most people, and probably many people enjoy their stay. But what was really shocking was the response of the owner (actually the son I think) when I whatsapped him that I was not happy about this situation, given we had flagged up the mobility issue when booking (6 months earlier!). I also mentioned that the small mobile air-conditioner in the room didn't work, and that the €3.50 per head tax he wanted was a lot more than the €0.80 written in my booking (I checked the local gov site, 0.80 was correct). For this, I received an avalanche of rude and aggressive messages, 19 in all, telling me e. g. "you can go if you want", "you choose the room not me" (?!), "your behaviour is not pretty" (this is because I asked him to help by carrying the lightest of rucksacks for me while I took the two heavy bags), and the winner: ".. is not our problem if your wife have a problem in leg". What he might have said is "I'm so sorry for all this, we'll do our best to make it up to you." But there it is. We won't be back. UPDATE: After some more exchanges, it turns out that Gianmarco is himself the owner. He did eventually also apologise for how things turned out. We all have bad days I guess.
