Riad 9 Fez

We had an amazing huge room, like a museum! In a perfect location, fantastic host, wonderful breakfast and amazing roof deck overlooking the medina. It was a fantastic stay!

It was perfect!

Absolutely stunning Riad - incredibly special place to stay. Beautiful fountain in the communal courtyard and adored the views from the terrace. Very well located for good access to souks made Fez surprisingly easy to navigate. We were warmly welcomed by Ataka who also gave great advice on places to eat and visit, plus made beautiful breakfasts.

Beautiful space, great rooftop common area for guests to enjoy, excellent homemade breakfast, friendly staff. We were arriving late after a long train ride to Fes, and the hotel offered to have dinner for us when we arrived. That was nice enough, but the manager prepared a beautiful homemade multi-course Moroccan meal that really set the tone for our visit.

Winter nights are cold in Fes, and we were there in February. The hotel could put a bit more care into insulating and heating the rooms, and maybe providing heaters in the common area.

This Riad is a real surprise, as many places in Morocco it is almost not recognisable from outside. The inner courtyard ist beautifully decorated and has a burbling fountain, the rooftop is amazing with a wonderful view over the entire city of Fès. Abundant moroccan breakfast. Located in the middle of the medina, about 15 minutes walk from the Blue Gate (Bab Bou Jeloud).

The rooms on the first floor don't really have a window on the street, which makes them quite dark, if you plan to stay in the room during the day.

Excellent breakfast, very good location, great hostess.

Lack of decent reading lights. Could have done with a chair in the bedroom.

Beautiful road and lovely hostess

Atika, the host, she’s extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the city, she’s like elder sister who takes good care of me and friend. We were the only guest there during the stay, we enjoyed the riad and her company.

Fantastique absolument magnifique

The breakfast, mostly homemade, and the accommodations were amazing. My two adult kids and I stayed on the third floor which was absolutely lovely and very spacious. I would highly recommend that room. The best part of our stay was Atika who runs the Riad. She greeted us with tea and cookies, booked dinner reservations, predicted all of our needs, and introduced us to Jeremiah (sp?) who gave us a wonderful tour of the Medina. Jeremiah introduced us to several local people who shared their passion about Fez especially living in the Medina. One of our local favorites was Abdul who has been making homemade tea (using several mints and herbs) from his tiny shop that a tourist would never discover on their own since 1969. Thank you, Atika for taking such great care of us and being the highlight of our stay. When we come back we will definitely book Riad9 again!
