Stemnitsa Stone Residence - Comfy Mountain Getaway

Great location, all the amenities are provided, it basically has literally everything someone might need for their vacation. Comfortable beds with many pillows, heating system worked great. Very clean and cozy. Great hosts. Would definitely stay again!

The road that takes you just a few meters from the house is very inconvenient if you have a larger car because it barely fits through. A large SUV or a truck would not make it through. You can always leave the car up on the road which is about a 150m walk which is not a big deal, but if you want to load or unload many luggage you have to go back and forth those 150m.

It was well equipped, everything worked. Beautiful location and well situated in the village.

Lack of tea-towels.

The apartment was more up-to-date than other village houses we’ve stayed in: there was good WiFi, the heat and hot water were instant and easy, and we could get Netflix on the tv. The kitchen was smallish but well equipped. If you’re there for hiking, it is a beautiful area! Menalon Trail section 4 was amazing. The apt is an easy 5 min walk to the village center.

The biggest downside was that the view was mostly from the covered balcony, but the weather in early May was too chilly to use it, so that was just our bad luck. Stemnitsa is a small village and the one dinner restaurant in the main square doesn’t have indoor tables. So again, because it was too cold for eating outside, we drove to Dimitsana a lot, which had more options. One bed was very squeaky.

Nice house with balcony and nice view. The house was clean and the facilities worked well.

It is tricky to find the house as it is not on the main road.
