this is a nice place, clean, comfortable beds, and fantastic view from the roof. And a good breakfast for this price range. However all rooms are arranged around a central staircase, with inward-looking windows. The stairs circle around a roofed courtyard. This means that it is very noisy. on my first morning, a large tour group bumped wheeled suitcases down the 3 floors of stairs then stood talking loudly, at 6 am. And the kitchen staff had arrived even earlier and had turned on their radio! On the positive side, the man at reception did bring me a cup of tea after I complained that I had been woken up.

We stayed here for three nights and really wanted to love it, but there were a few factors that made our stay a bit less-than-pleasant. Cons: 1.) The rooms are quite dark and a bit stuffy, and we struggled to open the window because the curtain rail blocked it from opening properly. 2.) REALLY noisy. All the rooms face an inner 'courtyard' where the reception is located, so you hear every conversation, ringing phone and doorbell - and this starts very early in the morning and goes until very late at night. 3.) The hotel alarm went off for about 2 mins for no reason at 12.30am on our first night. While I understand that this probably wasn't the fault of anyone, what was annoying was that the next morning we got woken up by a phone call at 6.45am to 'remind' us that breakfast was served until 9am. 4.) The morning after that the cleaner let herself into our room at 7.15am, again waking us up. Pros: 1.) Excellent location in a lovely historical area about 5mins walk to Plaza de Armas. 2.) Arthur Restaurant (the hotel's restaurant) is FANTASTIC 3.) Staff were friendly and helpful 4.) Great showers with good pressure and lots of hot water, and good wifi

The location right in the center of the historic San Lazaro district is prime. Close enough to walk to all the superb restaurants of Arequipa and the Plaza de Armas, yet in a quiet little spot. San Lazaro is the original Spanish district of Arequipa and this much of this historic building dates from that time, some 400+ years old and made from the white rock that characterizes Arequipa. The hotel has about 20 rooms on three levels that have contemporary styling and very modern plumbing and amenities. Great hot showers. Very clean, and a very friendly, helpful staff. There is also a delightful outside terrace on the roof with fine views of Arequipa. Very good breakfasts provided. Make sure you eat lunch or dinner at Arthur Restaurant located in the same building when you stay here. Five star food at very fair prices.

Perfect Location, in the heart of San Lazaro. Great Attention, very nice and ready to serve always smiling personal. Very clean. The breakfast in the restaurant next door is also very good. I can only recommend it!!

had an amazing time in this hotel, the architecture and location are pretty unique, rooms are comfortable and quiet, service was excelent, the restaurant offers a good option if you are looking for fine dinning.
