Grand Serendib Hotel

La vue sur Kandy depuis l’hôtel est splendide, la literie est très confortable et le personnel aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est varié et copieux.

Nous avons eu la chambre sous la réception, des travaux ont eu lieu pendant la sieste de notre fille et le matin c’était également un peu bruyant.

only thing to fault was the pillows that was really high, but everything else was spot on

Pleasant and welcoming staff. The infinity pool had a good view. Wifi worked well in the room.

If the pool was warmer that would be nice, weather wasn't the greatest for swimming which didn't help.

When we arrived at the Grand Serendip Hotel we had a wonderful reception and were made to feel very welcome. The reception staff were always friendly, professional and helpful to us. Sewmini, Bajar and Bishan were especially helpful ( I hope I have spelt your names correctly because the card got smudged) The door person Chandana was helpful as well. All the staff from managers to cleaners were exceptional. The hotel kindly upgraded us to the top floor and we needed to be close to the lift due to my husbands mobility problems which they did . The view from the room was spectacular. The views from everywhere in the hotel were great. Our room was spacious with a en-suite shower room and the bed incredibly comfortable. It was always clean and the cleaners and housekeeping generally were efficient, great guys. The location of the hotel was above Kandy in the hills but we could still see the Sacred tooth Temple and the lake as well as the fascinating twisting road. We could see mountains beyond too. You can easily get a Tuk Tuk from the hotel into Kandy town. We organised a tour of Kandy and the hotel intoduced us to Danu who took us to the sites and much more. Without Danu from the hotel our stay would have been very different . You have to be brave and trust the driver with the traffic in SriLanka because it can come at you from any direction !! The swimming pool was an eternity one over the town into the mountains - we love to swim before breakfast and the pool made the day start in a great way. The breakfast was a generous buffet with plenty of foods to select as well as an egg station so your requirements were alway met. The restaurant staff were constantly attentive and had beaming smiles ( all the staff!). The view from the open restaurant are the same wonderful outlook. We also ate in the hotel on the top floor which served some lovely food in the evening. I would strongly recommend this hotel for its hospitality and staff

I know this is an impossible request but the pool could have been bigger - if you look at the site on the side of a steep hill you can see this would have probably been impossible! So really nothing to not like
