The view of the ocean and the possibility, through little stairs, to reach it

Felt like we had found a little bit of paradise, The views hit you as soon as you walk in The room was lovely and clean and well-maintained with nice decor and all the essentials. Tea ,coffee, and so on The host was lovely and friendly and made us feel at home, The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and massive. Would definitely stay again

This place has stunning views of two (sneakily 3) surf spots. One from the back yard two out the front door. The manager Silva is the kindest soul, and very accomodating. His wife fixes some nice breakfast and takes great care of upkeep around the premises.

Breakfast spread could have been better. Apart from that everything was perfect.

A wonderful spot on the headland with private access to the bay for snorkeling.

Silva was an incredible host to us. So friendly and welcoming to us, attending to our questions and needs. We felt like we were family during our stay, we couldn't have asked for more. The property is located in a stunning corner of the beach with beach access and brilliant snorkeling at your door step.

We booked this place online and thought - wow this could be so nice to be close to the water. Upon arrival the host picked us up from train station and was very accommodating. We booked the „Deluxe Room“ and host described us that it would be his honeymoon suite. Upon arrival we realized that this was not really the standard we were looking for. We are 2 young students who traveled the world together - so really bear in mind that our standard is not high neither luxurious - but for 50€ a night we definitely expected something else when seeing the pictures.

Here is what to expect: - Overall extremely cheap and used furniture like mosquito net that felt low quality and used - You can see the ocean from your bed but it’s glass that won’t open = you don’t have a single window with fresh air - Room consists of Wellblech instead of ordinary walls = it feels super cheap - Outside area looks chaotic and definitely not like holiday - Bathroom looks catastrophic like in a cheap hostel - no honeymoon feeling - green lightning - Cleanliness was HORROR - millions of ants in the room going in collonies; lots of mold and brown parts all around the bathroom; rusted shower. You really don’t want to go in there with your bare feet - My partner had itchy body after one night in the bed - Outside area had broken sunbeds right in front of your view and more damaged furniture - You can hear every single person speaking due to the low quality walls - Ocean itself can’t be accessed for swimming; it’s only steep stairs and then rocks. No beach or anything to enjoy the water So overall we booked 5 nights and left after 2. Host did not make it easy for as and suddenly went really angry with us. At the beginning he said it’s fine and we don’t have to pay anything. However, later we needed to pay for two nights and the remaining taxes as he said that he is not able to sell the room anymore. However, after we left the place we received an immediate message from booking that our dates were changed and he tried to sell the place immediately after we left. So he completely lied to us and just took the money for his pocket. The whole cancellation process was awkward. He said that our standard is too high and we should go to Marriott instead. I mean sorry but we’re mid 20?? He was really rude and disrespectful only because we said his place wasn’t clean. In total - a disappointment for us. See the pictures for yourself. If you’re coming for a cheap hostel vibe, this is the place for you.

Kennos Korner is the best place in Sri Lanka. That is for sure
