388 Tay Motel

We stayed here in February and the rooms were cleaned and comfortable. We had trouble using our Credit Card as the machine was not working and we were told that because it was an Australian Card they could not accept it. We also tried another card and that was a debit card but that didn't work either then they tried their own card and that wasn't working so I don't think that the person understand that is machine was not working. The charge did go through on our Australian Card the next day. There was full cooking in the unit that we had which was very good. This motel is handy and in walking distance to the Motor Museum. It was very quiet and the beds were comfortable.

Spacious, clean, quiet and modern. Great place to stay and I would go back there again.

Vicky and Geoff are fantastic host. They were very helpful as it was my first time in Invercargill for Work. The rooms were serviced everyday, nice comfortable bed just felt like home away from home. Geoff was very kind to drop me off to the airport to catch my flight. overall experience was great, highly recommend it to anyone who is passing through.

I can't fault this place at all. Spotless, spacious rooms, well appointed kitchen and so very warm. Thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay here in the peace and quiet. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an affordable and very comfortable stay in Invercargill. Would absolutely stay here again any time.

Really enjoyed our couple of days there. Clean units, and had everything we wanted, plenty of room in the living area, also the bedrooms were a good size. Easy parking, handy spot to get to places. Owner was lovely. Would recommend to stay there.

We had a relaxing stay here, the hosts were very helpful and friendly. The unit was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, serviced daily and clean. The only suggestion would be to maybe looking at shampooing the lounge carpet and seating.

We really loved staying here. Our studio suite was immaculately clean and tidy. The care and thought that was put into our room shows these hosts really do care about others comfort. The shower was absolutely amazing, the bed even more so. I don't sleep very well as I have back problems but I have never slept so well! I woke up after a good full nights sleep and I was not sore at all. The host was helpful, friendly and recommended us to the best restaurant called the Spicy Chef. I cannot rate this place high enough. If I am down in Invercargill again this is the place I will be staying every time.

twice now we have stayed at this motel, lovely friendly host who has been most welcoming and helpful ,we have had the executive unit which is spacious, private and quiet and has everything you need for a short or long stay, the bed is very comfortable its a super king, the drive to Invercargill is only a short 3 minutes away from the motel or a short 10 minutes walk, we will definitely be back to 388 on Tay we love staying here

A 2-night stay in a 2-bedroom unit. Dianna and Keith are welcoming, friendly, good-humoured hosts. Nothing seems to be too much for them to do for their guests. Our unit was absolutely spotless, comfortable, roomy and equipped with everything you could need for self-catering. Would not hesitate to come here again

We found this place on TripAdvisor and were impressed with the reviews. A great host who was very helpful. Good laundry facilities. Good location and the room was very quiet. Was full in no time, so very popular. Nice coffee too.
