This is a very nice apartment in Miraflores. I will try to rent this every time I come back to Lima see you again in September.
The apartment was in great shape. However, I would like to suggest that you make it clear that the apartment does not have air conditioning. I live in Miami where every place has air conditioning, so I assumed this one would too. Lima can get pretty hot during the summer, so it's important that potential travelers are aware of this before making a decision.
The positives: The location is fantastic. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and bars. A safe neighborhood. It has a 24 hour doorman. We talked with Carlos and Fernando and they were both very helpful should a problem arise. The building is modern and has elevators. The negatives: there is no air conditioning. We knew this when renting it and decided to try. For the temperature in January and February I would not recommend no a/c. We stayed for a month and struggled to be comfortable. The problem at night is, with the windows open you hear everything: motorcycles, vendors squeecking horns very early in the morning and even the police will do short blasts with their sirens very early. If you can sleep with ear plugs then maybe it's OK for you. After 1 month we moved to another apartment just 2 blocks away and it is completely silent at night. So just know Calle Alcanfores is not a quiet street. There is also a problem with the closet in the bedroom. It has a strong odor of mildew. The Wynwood group tried to fix it by cleaning and a dehumidifier but it didn't work. You can smell the odor with the door shut so if you are sensitive to this or have allergies would not recommend.
