We found the Mount Cook Lodge & Motel to be very unique, in that the units were like small apartments. They had a kitchen, and besides a queen bed in the main room with a pullout sofa and a table, there was a separate bedroom with two twin beds. The bathroom had a heater, which was nice for cold mornings. Everything is close together, so even if you go do activities in the Hermitage, it's nice to come back to the Mount Cook Lodge where it's a little quieter and there are a fewer tourists.
The view from the room is breathtaking.
全体的には良かったのだけれど、一つだけ不便だったことは、客室に行くのに階段を利用するしかないこと。ほとんどの宿泊客が大きなスーツケースを持って移動しているのにスロープもなく階段しかないのは不便です。

The room was great, staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the Chamois was amazing, better even than the buffet at the Hermitage.
